Pretty Pink Posh - Watercolour Blog Hop - Entry # 1

I've been so looking forward to the Pretty Pink Posh - Watercolour Blog Hop for weeks and in making my cards, I've become quite addicted to playing with water colours.


This is my first of three cards (told you I got carried away......) for the hop. I really wanted to have another go at 'smooshing' but this time over an embossed image. 

I've been dying to try out my new Altenew 'Geometric Menagerie' stamp set, and thought the giraffe would be something completely new to have on one of my cards. 

I heat embossed the giraffe in white on water colour paper, which was cut to fit the card front. I then put three different Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed) on a plate and added water. I used a small piece of clear acetate to pick up the colour and 'smoosh' it over the image. 

I'm normally a very controlled person with my cards but I'm loving the way the ink can go anywhere and I can move it a little. After drying with my heat gun, I heat embossed the sentiment in gold. This was then adhered to the card front. I was going to add some sequins but nothing seemed to work. I really love how it turned out!!
