Reminder: TIME OUT Challenge #121

Hi everyone!! Its been a 4-day week for me as Monday was a public holiday, so I'm been flat out trying to fit five days worth of jobs into four. I'm so tired but have so much more to do and one more day till the weekend. Might have to start drinking coffee to keep me awake!!

I was wanting to remind you all about our current challenge theme at TIME OUT. We have this phrase to inspire you and you can use it however you wish. Maybe you will focus on one word, what the phrase means or what it makes you feel.....its totally up to you!!

Our Sponsor for this challenge is Stamplorations. They are giving a $15 voucher to the winner and also a goodie bag for a randomly drawn entry, which is super generous of them!!

I have a Stamplorations stamp set that I got too late last year to use for Christmas but I love it so much I'm determined to give it some attention this year:

I've always been a fan of geometric patterns and when I saw this Stamplorations set 'Yuletide Deer' I knew it had to come and live at my house!!

I started off by stamping and heat embossing the deer image in silver on a circle of Strathmore Bristol Smooth CS that had been die-cut with a die from Couture Creations. I grabbed a light and medium blue Zig Real Color Brush Pen, using the darker one to randomly colour triangles on the deer and used the lighter one to colour the outside with some water and brush.

I'm loving light blue, red and white for my Christmas cards this year, so decided to add a red background. Turns out I only have one large red ink pad from Mama Elephant 'Apple' which I've loved so much it took me about 500x of inking the Right At Home 'Watercolour Background' stamp in my MISTI to get this coverage. I see some ink pad purchasing in my near future....

I cut the red panel down so it was slightly smaller and popped it on a piece of white foam. I then added white foam behind the circle die. The sentiment (from the same 'Yuletide Deer' stamp set) was stamped with the same red ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I adhered it to the circle along with some clear and red sequins from Neat and Tangled.

I'm going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is the ever popular 'Anything Goes'.

You have until Wednesday 7th November to link your projects to the TIME OUT Challenge and if you are struggling with ideas, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created to inspire you. Look forward to seeing what you come up with in the Gallery!!

Take care
Shona

  3. What a fabulous colour combo, Shona ... the delicate origami pattern in the reindeer is a great contrast with the bold red stripes! Hugs, Anita :)
