Reminder: TIME OUT Challenge #145

Hi everyone!! Hope your having a fabulous week and how crazy that its October already??!!!

I wanted to remind you all about our current challenge at TIME OUT. October is 'Breast Cancer Awareness' month, so we wanted to make sure we included it in one of our challenges. Self checking your breasts only takes a few minutes and finding anything abnormal early on, can make such a difference with the outcome. Pink seems to be synonymous with Breast Cancer so you have the Optional Twist to 'Create a one-layer project with Pink'.

Our Sponsor for this challenge is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps who do so much to raise awareness and have stamps and dies created especially to provide support where proceeds from their sale go to Breast Cancer research. They are giving away a $25 voucher to their store to a random winner picked from those who use the 'Optional Twist'.

For my card I didn't use the optional twist, I wanted to include a few different stamps and dimension:

I started off by adding a panel of dark grey CS to the card front for a background. I then cut a panel of white CS slightly smaller than the card front. Using pink ink colours from Catherine Pooler, Waffle Flower and Hero Arts I stamped the 'hope' from the 'Hope Ribbon' stamp set and the ribbon image from the 'Word Ribbon' stamp set on the white panel. This was popped up on the card front on a piece of white foam.

I die-cut the 'Hope Fri-Die' twice from pink CS and once from white CS, gluing them together with the white on the bottom. This was glued to the card with Gina K Connect Glue. I stamped the rest of the sentiment (also from the 'Hope Ribbon' stamp set) with Versafine Onyx ink on white CS, fussy cut it out and glued above the die-cut, along with Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

I'm going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Think Pink'.

You have until Wednesday 9th October to link your projects to the TIME OUT challenge and if your needing a few ideas to get you going, pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the Design Team and our fabulous Guest Designer Sidan have created to inspire you. Look forward to seeing you in the Gallery!!

Take care
Shona
