World Card Making Day with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!!

Happy World Card Making Day everybody!! How fabulous to have a day just to celebrate our hobby we all love. There are so many stamp and craft companies having all sorts of challenges and giveaways today, including CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

Over on the CFS Blog you can get all the details about the WCMD Challenge. You can link any cards you make over the weekend. We would love to see any CFS products if you have them but all companies are welcome. There are lots of prizes up for grabs, with the Grand Prize Winner getting a special package of goodies and a Guest Designer spot, so definitely worth taking part!!

For my card I'm very worried about making sure I have enough Christmas Cards this year, so I decided to create a few more using a new technique by Jennifer McGuire:

Jennife's YouTube video is all about putting things in laminator pouches (like glitter, embossing powder etc) and using them on cards. After finally getting the right laminator I'm so in love with the technique.

I got so carried away I ended up making two cards!! I started by blending Distress Inks 'Salty Ocean' and 'Mermaid Lagoon' over the two card fronts to create the background. I cut a panel of white CS for each card and used a 'Bubble Box Fri-Die' to cut windows in them.

Using Jennifer's technique I put white embossing powder from Ranger in one laminating pouch, which gave me enough to create two snowy windows. I glued them behind the window spaces. To add more interest I die-cut 'Funky Flake Fri-Dies' from white CS and glued them behind the windows in each corner. The windows were then put on the card fronts with foam tape.

For the sentiments I stamped the 'Noel' and 'Joy' from the 'Joy' stamp set on white CS with Versamark ink and heat embossed with WOW! Embossing Powder in 'Pastel Glacier Mint'. I fussy cut them out and adhered to the windows with double-sided tape and glued on some Neat and Tangled sequins.

You have until Monday 7th October 11.55am to link your cards to the CFS Blog and there are plenty of cards from the rest of the 'Girl Friday's' there to inspire you as well.

Good luck and can't wait to see what you create. And hooray for such a wonderful hobby to bring us all together!!

Take care
Shona
