AAA Card Challenge #122 (Entry no. 3)

Crazy I know but I've played around with yet another new stencil!! For someone that only used a stencil maybe once every few months, three in three days is pretty amazing!! And maybe I have the AAA Card Challenge to thank for my new found interest...

So a few weeks ago I purchased the MFT 'Grassy Edges' stencil. It has four edges of different shapes to create grass and I thought it would be much easier than using a MFT Stamps 'Grass' die that I have.

However, when it arrived and I started looking at it, I couldn't help but wonder if I could use it to create a different kind of pattern and maybe one with rainbow colours.....:

Its grass but not as we know it!! This was super fun to do and I'm imagining it now with ombre colours....

I cut a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth CS and grabbed a rainbow of different colours of Distress Inks. Using my mini-blending tool I just started at the top, concentrating the the colour along the 'grass' edges and fading towards the next colour. I just kept turning the stencil around for each new colour until I got to the bottom.

Next I cut the sides down slightly so you could see the card base and popped it up on a piece of white foam. I die-cut the MFT 'Hugs' die 3x from white CS, glued them together and then to the card front. The rest of the sentiment (from MFT 'Furever Friends' was heat embossed in white on a strip of black CS, adhered to the card front and I glued on some Neat and Tangled sequins for a bit of bling!!

I'm also going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Anything Goes'.

Its Fathers Day tomorrow in New Zealand and have just finished wrapping up Dave's presents with the kids for tomorrow morning. Unfortunately he has to work tomorrow afternoon but we are taking him out for dinner, which is nice for all of us, as we only do it once or twice a year. We are going to a place that makes all sorts of Asian dishes, so I can't wait to eat and not have to do the dishes!!

Take care
Shona
