Well, the day is finally here!!!! The new Flower Challenge has begun!!!!!
Yes that's right, a challenge that's devoted to all things floral!! You can use floral stamps, dies, stencils, digital images, you name it. And with floral stamps especially being so popular at the moment, I'm sure like me you will have so many of them, you don't get a chance to use them all. So this challenge will be perfect for you too!!
Now, I would love to say that this was my idea but no. My lovely friend Aileen of Colour and Sparkle approached me a few months ago and told me she had an idea for a new challenge and would I be interested in joining the DT. Firstly I thought what a fabulous idea and secondly, of course I said yes!!! She has brought together a fantastic bunch of crafty women to inspire you each month and I just know your going to like what they have to show you!!
To make this first challenge nice and easy and get everyone excited about it, our first theme is:
ANYTHING GOES WITH FLORALS
This means you can create a birthday card, baby card or whatever type of card you like. As long as it has a floral focal point, then you can do whatever you like. How does that sound?? And all the details regarding rules/guidelines etc are on the challenge blog.
For my card I thought it would be best to use some flower stamps that haven't really had the love they deserve of late. And I tend to water colour them more than stamp, so I grabbed my ink pads as well and went to town:
To make this card I started off by cutting a strip of white CS and popped it up on foam tape over the card front. I stamped the large flowers on white CS using Altenew inks 'Crimson' and 'Velvet', and Altenew 'Mango Smoothie' and Hero Arts 'Soft Vanilla'. I also stamped the more intricate flowers as well and fussy cut them all out.
I adhered the larger flowers so they hung over the panel edge, and the smaller flowers were tucked in underneath. I kept the sentiment simple, stamping it in black and adding some gold sequins for shine.
The two large middle flowers are from Altenew 'Beautiful Day', as well as the sentiment. All the other flower images are from Altenew 'Remember This' and the sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
I'm going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Anything Goes' too!!
You have until October 25th to link your projects to the The Flower Challenge and we will be back on the 15th with some more cards to inspire you. You can pop over to the blog now to see what the rest of the Design Team have created for you.
I'm so excited and proud to be a part of this new challenge adventure and can't wait to see all your beautiful projects in the Gallery. Thank you so much Aileen for inviting me to be part of this team, its a real honour!!!
