CASology Challenge #111

What a fantastic week its been. Thankyou so much for all your lovely comments about my joining the Time Out DT, they make me smile so much (although if I smile anymore my chubby cheeks might implode!!).

Not only did I find out I had won two card challenges yesterday but today a lovely parcel arrived from Spain. I follow a blog My Paper Journey which is owned by the most amazing designer Yainea. A few weeks ago she had an amazing giveaway of goodies which unfortunately I didn't win but.....the original winner didn't claim and she chose another comment and it was me!!! I was so excited and contacted her straight away.

Yainea is so lovely and I told her about myself and how my daughter Phoebe couldn't wait for the parcel to arrive. Well, it only took one week (from Spain!!) to make it to New Zealand. This is what we found inside:

Isn't this fantastic! I can't get any of these products in New Zealand, so its extra amazing for me. She included the most beautiful card, a few extra goodies for me and a lovely bag of crafty trinkets just for Phoebe. What a fabulous woman!! Phoebe and I are going to work on a card to send to her to thank her so much for her generosity and kindness. Crafters are so wonderful!!!

So, the inspiration for the challenge at CASology this week is:

All I could think about with this challenge was the word 'understand' but had nothing in my crafting stash to portray this idea. So......

Now your probably wondering 'what does this card have to do with the word 'under'??? Well, have you ever heard of the word 'undergrowth'?? It means plants and shrubs that grow under a tree etc. My sentiment is appearing amongst the 'undergrowth'! Am I kooky or what??!! I sure hope this makes sense as I think this is one of my favourite cards.

I stamped the sentiment in green and then stamped the leaves and flowers in the same ink. I then took a chance and tried some water-colouring. I used a Distress Ink to paint the pink flowers and used the same green stamp ink to paint the leaves. It turned out even better than I thought it would and the little pink sequins finish it off nicely.

The sentiment is from Neat and Tangled 'Kindness Matters'.  The flowers/leaves are from Altenew 'Painted Flowers' and the sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Because I've done some water-colouring, I'm also going to link this to the challenge at AAA Cards Challenge #18 where their theme is:

And I'm also going to link this to the Lawnscaping Challenge #89 where their theme is:

And last (but not least) I will link to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where their Stamptember Theme is - Stamp it!

Whew, I think this is the longest post I've ever done!! Sorry about that but there are so many wonderful challenges to enter and people to thank. I hope I haven't missed anything!

Take care
Shona
