One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #9 - Hip to be Square

Small, square cards are so sweet I think, so I was very happy to see the challenge at One-layer Simplicity was 'Hip to be Square'. This means that you need to have a square somewhere on your card or the card itself could be square.

For some reason I always think of small gift cards for my Mum to go with a box of chocolates, flowers or rose for her garden. So I really wanted to keep the card soft and feminine:

I stamped this square stamp on the card with Versamark Ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then masked off around the edges and coloured using 'Spun Sugar' Distress Ink and my mini blending tool. I wanted a sentiment that had a 'swirl and softness' to it as well and inked it in grey. I love the pink/grey combo, its just very pretty and feminine. I added two light pink pearls to the side and just love how it turned out.

The square stamp is from Couture Creations and the sentiment from Hero Arts.

Off out into my garden now to soak up some sunshine and Vitamin D. Now all my posting is done I can sit down tonight and craft away. I've got so many challenges I want to enter, just hope I can think of enough ideas!!

Take care
Shona
