Winnie & Walter - Gossip Column Challenge - No. 1

Do you ever get a challenge in your brain and constantly think about it?? For some reason this has happened to me with the new Winnie & Walter - Gossip Column Challenge with Taheerah Atchia, No. 1.

This is a new column for W&W where the fabulous Taheerah will not only comment on the latest trends in papercrafting but will also have giveaways and challenges. For her first column she talked about the colour trends of the moment and the paint colours for Spring from Pantone:

There are colours here I love and others I would never think of using. The challenge was to combine some of these colours together in your design. The tricky part for me is that I don't have many ink pad colours, so stamping was tricky. I also only have Winnie and Walter stamp sets with words, so this made it even harder.

So, I went to my paint chip box and found a few paint samples in similar colours and tried to keep the use of other brand products to a minimum:

I never use orange in my designs. It's one of those colours that scares me, so I wanted to make sure it turned up somewhere on this card. The Pantone colours I tried to match were the Strawberry Ice, Lucite Green and Tangerine Orange.

I die-cut the heart from three different coloured paint chips and arranged them on a circle die-cut from white CS. This was popped up on the card front on foam tape. I used the only dark pink ink I have to stamp the sentiment and added a few co-ordinating enamel dots. This is a colour combo I would never have used but love these together. Might have to do this again!!

The heart die is from CAS-ual Fridays and the circle die is from Couture Creations. The sentiment stamps are from Winnie & Walter 'The Big, the Bold and the Happy' and the enamel dots from Papervine.

I'm also going to enter this into the Virginia's View Challenge # 14 where the theme is:

It's 10am Thursday morning here in New Zealand and the sun has come out to play. Will have to get the kids outside (now that its warmed up), maybe go for a big walk up the hills. Better go and have a shower first though and get changed. Yes, its 10am and I'm still in my pyjama's (and so are the kids). Boy I love the school holidays!!

Take care
Shona
