CAS(E) this Sketch # 116 (Take 2)

Phoebe is home from her week at school camp and is full of stories of her adventures. So I need to post this card quick smart so I can get back to the 'camp tales'.

This is my second entry for CAS(E) this Sketch this week. I was playing around with some Distress Inks the other day and had an idea that included a rainbow. It took a bit of fiddling and blending but I'm so happy with the final product:

Now, if you know me, you know I'm not so confident with using stencils etc but totally jumped out of my comfort zone for this one!

I cut a square from some plain paper for a mask and then die-cut three different sized clouds from white CS. I used washi tape to hold the square against the card front and the clouds in position. Out came my mini-blending tool and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and I went to town creating my sky. After die-cutting the rainbow from different pastel coloured cardstocks, I arranged my rainbow using washi tape behind it to hold it together. It was then popped up on foam tape over the clouds. The first part of the sentiment was stamped in black ink and the rest in soft pink.

This card is for Phoebe. She loves rainbows and did so well with her camp, dealing with scary situations (rock climbing, abseiling) and also some bullies. So will fill this out tonight and leave by her bed. She really is wonderful!

The rainbow die is from Paper Smooches, as is the 'wonderful' stamp (Kudos set). The 'you are' stamps are from Winnie and Walter 'The Big, the Bold and the Happy'.  The cloud dies are from Couture Creations and the enamel dots are from Papervine.

I have three other challenges I would like to link this too:

Virginia's View Challenge # 14 (Layers and Dimension)

AAA Card Challenge # 36 (Easter Colours)

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Week 5 (Anythings Goes)

Right, I'm off to put on my pj's and jump in bed with Phoebe. We can watch some more Modern Family and catch up with whats been going on this week with each other. Boy, I've missed her!!

Take care
Shona
