Waffle Flower Challenge April 13-26

We had two rather big earthquakes today and luckily they both happened when Mum and I were driving to the supermarket, so amazingly we didn't feel them at all. Dave called me when we had just started shopping to make sure I was okay and that I had talked to Mum. I was so surprised but glad we didn't feel them. Mum is petrified of them, especially now she lives on her own. I was worried the kids were scared but they didn't say anything after school, so I'm not going to mention it. We had very big earthquakes 18mths ago and Max has only just stopped worrying about them. Not the best start to the day. Luckily there was no damage or injuries and lets just hope that there will be no more.......

Anyhoo, (sorry, went on a bit of a non-crafting tangent there.....) I had a bit of a challenge myself with the latest Waffle Flower challenge:

What a beautiful butterfly and amazing photograph. And you can see though, the colours are not ones I use often and never together, so this really stressed my creative brain. Not to mention I only have one Waffle Flower stamp set. This has turned into the 'How many cards can I make with one set of stamps' challenge for me!!

I really wanted to make sure I used each of the colours. I found a striped beige paper that was adhered straight to the card front. I then cut a panel from white CS and stamped the butterfly with the deep plum colour. I stamped the leaves in blue and then stamped the flowers on white CS. These were fussy cut and popped up on foam tape. The sentiment was stamped in black and I added some orange and teal enamel dots. The panel was then adhered with foam tape.

The patterned paper is from Teresa Collins 'Memorabilia'. The butterfly stamp is from Couture Creations. The rest of the stamps are from Waffle Flower 'Loved' and the enamel dots are from Papervine.

I'll link this to the House of Cards April Challenge where their theme is:

And will also link to the Uniko Studio Challenge # 20 where their theme is 'Things with Wings'.

Its 10.30pm Thursday night and I need to make two more cards before I go to bed. Hopefully I can keep my eyes open long enough to finish. Won't get any time tomorrow as I'm off to a gardening job all day. Got to pay for this fabulous hobby some how!!!

Take care
Shona

  1. Very different and very creative as well. Beautifully executed Shona.

Happy to hear everyone is OK. We get minor quakes here from time to time and they can be disconcerting.

    Hugs and Blessings
