Oh my goodness, its the 1st of April. Where have the last three months gone????? I feel like I've only just gotten the kids back to school after their Summer holidays and all of a sudden they are going to be back home again for two weeks. At least there will be no rushing around late every morning, trying to get everyone organised. We can take it all very slowly.....
We have a new challenge starting today at Addicted to Stamps, and this week our theme is:
HOLIDAY
This means you can create a project relating to anything to due with holidays. Maybe you can make something for a national holiday i.e. Easter or about holidays in general. Its totally up to you! Our sponsor for this challenge is Stitchy Bears Stamps who are offering 3 digital images up to $10 for the winner. How exciting!!!
You may notice when perusing the cards by the rest of the Design Team, that I'm the only one who hasn't made an Easter card. Turns out I don't actually own any Easter related stamps, so it gave me a chance to add to my Christmas Card stash:
While wandering through Pinterest a while ago, I found a few cards that had circles of vellum adhered to cards in different spots. The vellum had gold spots on it and I suddenly thought about using plain vellum to try and create the idea of snow.
I cut LOTS of circles from vellum and after playing around with the arrangement, spent quite a while sticking each individual circle in a row, overlapping slightly and started from the bottom. After five rows I trimmed all the edges. I cut a strip of silver cardstock and adhered it over the top edge of the last row. The sentiment (from Uniko Studios 'Big and Bold Snow') was heat embossed in silver. So happy with how it turned out!
I'm going to link this to three other challenges:
Simply Create Too Challenge # 82 (Anything Goes)
Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes)
Uniko Studio Challenge # 19 (Anything Goes)
You have one week to enter your holiday creations at Addicted to Stamps. The rest of the Design Team have worked hard to make projects to help inspire you, these can be found on the blog. I really hope you have a chance to play and can't wait to see what you come up with!
Take care
Shona
