Little Tangles Challenge #80

Hello everyone and welcome to the Little Tangles  challenge for the month of May!! We have a rather fabulous theme for you this month:

I don't think stencils have ever gone out of style and there have been so many amazing patterns released of late, I can't wait to see what ones you use!!!

The winner of the challenge will get to choose a Neat and Tangled stamp set of their choice, which is a wonderful incentive to enter!! Please remember to check out the challenge rules on the blog as you are now required to use a Neat and Tangled stamp on your project to qualify. Would hate for you to miss out!!

Now, stencils are something that I love the look of but have only used maybe five times in the last 2 years. A bit like patterned paper now I think about it..... I don't actually own any Neat and Tangled stencils however a bit of 'kiwi ingenuity' had me creating my own:

I started off by die-cutting the 'Polygon Cover Plate' from some scrap white CS. I then taped it down over a panel of white CS and using my mini-blending tool, blended Distress Ink 'Picked Raspberry' over all the die-cut spaces. Once I had finished, I die-cut the cover plate once more from white CS which had a piece of double-sided adhesive stuck to the back of it. That way I could easily press the cover plate die-cut over the pattern and adhere it. To give it some interest I put the white die-cut slightly down from the pattern so the white area's didn't meet up. It gives it a lot more dimension.

After I adhered the panel to my card front, I die-cut the back part of the 'Awesome'  die from white CS. The word itself was die-cut twice from dark pink CS and glued together for more dimension. The word was glued in place and the whole thing popped up on foam tape on the card front. The rest of the sentiment (from the 'Awesome' stamp set) was heat embossed in white on a strip of black CS and put on foam tape. For a bit of shine I glued on some 'Pink Lemonade'  sequins and added Wink of Stella to the word.

I'm going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'A Hint of Pink'.

You have until Thursday 25th May to link your projects to the Little Tangles  challenge and for more stencil ideas, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created for you. I'm looking forward to seeing your creations in the Gallery!!

Take care
Shona
