CAS-ual Fridays Stamps - Girl Friday - May

Hi there everyone and welcome to my 'Girl Friday' post for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps for the month of May!!

I'm going out on a limb with my card design this time and trying to see if I can create a masculine card with flowers on it. Is it possible??:

What do you think?? Is it too girly? Too flowery?? I'm not sure but love how it turned out and being a huge fan of the colour blue, I love it anyway!!

This was super simple to put together. I started off by stamping and heat embossing the 'love' image from the 'Flower Power' stamp set in white on a piece of watercolour CS. Using Distress Inks 'Peacock Feathers', 'Mermaid Lagoon' and 'Salty Ocean' I created an ombre effect over the embossing, using a mini-blending tool. I then stamped the 'you' from 'Rad 2' in black ink.

To make the colours pop, I cut a panel of black CS slightly larger than the embossed panel and adhered it behind. I then popped both panels up on foam tape on the card front. I decided that since this was for a man, it was tricky enough having flowers on it, let alone adding some sequins, so I left it as is.

I have three challenges I would like to enter:

Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes)

Simon Says Stamp - Work It Wednesday Challenge - April (Rain and/or Flowers)

AAA Card Challenge # 89

  3. Hi Shona! Long time no post from me. I've been looking at your cards & absolutely love them, as always. I just had to tell you this card works as a masculine card. Most men like blue, and your sponging looks great. I don't think the flowers are too feminine, they're so small. I think it would look good with beige & light brown, too. That would also work for a man. Love the stamps you used here. GREAT job!
