In September last year after my father died, I decided to do something totally out of my comfort zone and start a blog. I didn't know anyone who had their own one,so was flying solo. Darnell was one of the first people to leave me a comment about a card and then mentioned me in one of her blog posts as someone to visit. This gave me to confidence to keep it up and her comments along the way have been a real boost.
So, Ardyth decided to open a linky so the crafting community could add their birthday cards for Darnells birthday. You can find the link on her blog MASKerade (and also have a look around, Ardyth is a genius with her card making). I'm a bit late with mine so decided not to do an actual birthday card, instead using a sentiment that shows how wonderful she really is.
This is my first time EVER using Distress Inks and I absolutely loved the process. So for Darnell, this is a NBUS (Never Been Used Schtuff) card. I used a new stencil and went to town. I then used my favourite sentiment stamp and added some bling.
The sentiment stamp is from Altenew 'Sohcahtoa', the stencil from Teresa Collins 'Basically Essential' and rhinestones from Kaisercraft.
I hope you don't mind Darnell but I'm going to link this to the Mod Squad Challenge where their theme is 'Marvellous Mini's'. I chose to do a 3 inch x 3 inch card.
And will also link this to the CASology Challenge # 102 where their cue word is:
I thought of a butterfly floating on a breeze and I'm so glad I finally have a butterfly in my craft collection!!
So Darnell, thankyou for everything and look forward to your hilarious blog posts for years to come.
Take care
Shona
