Hi everyone and welcome to another week at Just Add Ink!! We have the most amazing photo inspiration for you this week that your going to fall in love with:
Isn't this photo amazing??!!! The Gallery is going to look gorgeous with flowers, deep purple and other amazing cards on display. I can't wait!!
As soon as I saw this photo I knew exactly what I wanted to do and what stamp I wanted to use. Its doesn't happen that way often, so was great to just get cracking:
I started off by stamping the flower with Versafine Ink on watercolour CS and immediately heat embossing with clear powder. I then sat down with my Gansai Tambi watercolour paints and found the perfect purple colour to use on the petal tips. Once it had dried I covered the painted areas with Wink of Stella and put aside.
I cut a panel of white CS and used a die-cut in the middle so the flower would be framed. Where the open area would sit over the card front I used my mini-blending tool and Distress Ink 'Mowed Lawn' to create some colour. I wanted to make sure there was some green on the card because I loved the green stalk in the photo.
The panel was popped up on lots of foam tape over the card front and then the flower in the middle. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white CS, put on foam tape as well and glued on a few co-ordinating sequins.
The flower is from Studio Katia 'Thank you so much', as well as the sentiment from 'Hello Alice'. The 'Stitched Creative Nested Square' die is also from Studio Katia and the sequins from Neat and Tangled.
I've got two challenges I would like to enter:
Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge (Frame it up)
CAS Watercolour Challenge - May
You have until Wednesday 17th May to link your projects to the Just Add Ink challenge and why not pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have made to inspire you. You won't be disappointed!! Look forward to seeing you in the Gallery!
Take care
Shona

ReplyDeleteOh yes! I, too, love it on those rare occasions when I have an instant vision of what I want to create. And wow! your vision on this one was exquisite! I especially love how you made the flower over a frame and have it touching the frame on a few points. This has such a great sense of depth and dimension and I'm so glad you shared something so inspiring with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
