Time Out Challenge # 58

Hello everybody and welcome to Thursday and a new challenge theme at TIME OUT! We have a fabulous photo to inspire you this week:

                                       HOME SWEET HOME

Can you imagine the different colour light that would come through these window panes?? The room would look incredible. You can be inspired by anything in this photo, maybe the colours, the brickwork, the texture, so many ideas!!

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Karren from Stamping Stuff. Karren is a New Zealander like myself, so its wonderful to have someone from my little country joining us. She can create cards for any occasion and always knows how to rock a sketch!!

I loved the window so much I decided to try and recreate it with some vellum and pencils:

I hunted high and low through my papers to find a suitable green for the 'window pane'. I die-cut the tag, with the windows, from it and also twice from some white CS. I then die-cut the solid tag from some white CS and a piece of vellum. With a pencil I circled on the vellum where the windows would sit and coloured in each window pane with coloured pencils. This was then glued to the back of the green die-cut and then the other two die-cuts glued behind. I then glued on the solid white die-cut tag and adhered to the card front.

The 'celebrate' was die-cut from gold CS and twice from white CS, glued together and then to the tag. I then stamped the rest of the sentiment to a slim piece of white CS and glued it on, as well as some co-ordinating sequins. These aren't colours I would use often but really like how they came together.

The stitched-tag die and stitched-window die are from Pretty Pink Posh, as well as the sequins. The 'celebrate' die is from Waffle Flower, as well as the sentiment from the 'Congrats' stamp set.

You have two weeks to link your projects to the TIME OUT challenge and if you need any help with inspiration, the rest of the Design Team have some fab cards on the blog. Can't wait to see how your inspired by this photo and hope to see you in the Gallery!!

Take care

Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge # 196

Morning everyone and welcome to a new challenge week at Addicted to Stamps and More! Its your favourite theme this week:

The Gallery is always overflowing with gorgeous projects for this one. So many ideas and inspiration to be found!!

Our Sponsor for this challenge is Eureka Stamps and they are offering 3 digi images to the winner. Definitely a reason to enter, even more than once!!

When I was thinking about the design of my card, I came across a challenge photo that totally inspired me:

I knew I would be too late to enter the Paper Smooches challenge but loved the rainbow colours against the black, so I created this:

I wish I had some coloured embossing powders because I really wanted to have the colour against a black background. Another thing to add to my crafting wish list.....

The frame was cut from black CS three times and glued together for stability and to give a bit of dimension. I held it over the card front and drew around it with pencil to give myself a guide for stamping. I then used a paintbrush-like stamp in a rainbow of colours within the frame. After erasing the pencil lines, I adhered the frame.

I die-cut the 'friend' three times from black CS and glued them together and then to the card. I added some Wink of Stella and then lots of Glossy Accents to give it a bit of sparkle and shine. The rest of the sentiment was heat embossed in white on black CS, fussy cut and glued to the card front, along with some sequins.

The 'friend' die is from Paper Smooches, along with the frame 'Frames 2'. The paintbrush stamp is also Paper Smooches 'Positive Strokes', as well as the sentiment 'Best Buds'. The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

You have one week to link your projects to the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge. The rest of the Design Team have some gorgeous projects on the blog if you need any inspiration!! Can't wait to see your designs in the Gallery!!!

Take care

Happy Little Stampers - June CASE the Designer Challenge

Good morning everybody!! I can't believe its the 1st of June already, feels like Xmas was only a few weeks ago. I have no idea where the time has gone! It does mean though that its time for a new designer at Happy Little Stampers - CASE the Designer Challenge!!!

This month we are CASEing the wonderfully talented Rahmat of Cards and Cooking Corner. I've gotten to know Rahmat over the past few years and her cards always surprise and inspire me, so its fantastic to CASE one of her creations:

Isn't this gorgeous?!!!!! I love how she created the background (have never been able to master bokeh myself...) and that vellum flower and leaves are sensational!! You can be inspired by anything to do with Rahmat's card, maybe the colours, the circles, the flower. Its completely up to you. And the winner of this challenge will win a $15 gift voucher from Happy Little Stampers!!

I loved the layout of her card and the use of the silver/gray colouring in the background, so used that for my inspiration:

I haven't used these stamps for a while and wanted to use something different for my background, so pineapples seemed like the perfect idea!

I randomly stamped the pineapple in grey ink across the card front. I then stamped the monkey, her skirt, flower and a pineapple on some white CS and coloured with pencils. After using the matching die-cuts to cut them out, I glued the flower and skirt on and popped the monkey up on foam tape. I adhered the pineapple over one of the stamped ones, stamped the sentiment and added some sequins for colour.

The stamps and dies are from Waffle Flower 'Willy and Friends'. The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

You have all month to create something inspired by Rahmat's card. And the rest of the design team have some incredible projects on the blog to help you with ideas. I can't wait to see what you come up with in the Gallery!!

Take care
