Honey I Shrunk the Kit # 2

Two months has disappeared like that and its time for Hazel, Sarah and I to share our cards from our 'Honey I Shrunk the Kit' package # 2.

Firstly, I must apologise for not being around much over the last week or so. Last Thursday (23rd July) I picked up Max from school to be told he had just vomited. He was 'happy as Larry' so said I would keep an eye on him. Well, I've never seen a boy so sick and vomit so much. He didn't stop for 24hrs, it was awful. Unfortunately on the Friday night I came down with it, Saturday lunchtime Phoebe started vomiting and then Sunday night Dave started.

It was an awful, awful virus and really knocked us all around. Especially me as I had to try and keep going and look after everyone else. Max went to school Wednesday, Phoebe Thursday and Dave to work on Friday. We are all fine now but I'm so very behind on all my commenting etc. So will spend the next few days catching up with all your cards and adventures.

Sarah (from Funky Fossil Designs) sent Hazel and I a gorgeous package of 'Coffee themed' goodies for us to create with:

She stamped images and sentiments from Stamplorations, Paper Smooches, Create A Smile and Mama Elephant on to white CS. The combo of the lime green with pink and kraft is so pretty and love the little veneer pieces.

For my first card I used the white card base Sarah included and cut a piece of kraft CS so it was even with the top of the card but short on the sides and bottom. I used my Waffle Flower 'Flower' die to cut the flower pattern from the kraft CS and also the green CS. I used washi tape to hold the green flower in place and then put the whole panel on some foam tape. I cut the coffee cup to fit behind the circle die and used double the amount of foam tape to pop it above the flower level. I coloured the heart green, covered in Wink of Stella and lots of Glossy Accents. After cutting out the sentiment, I adhered it to the card along with the kraft arrow and some green enamel dots (from Papervine).

For my second card, I used circle dies (from Couture Creations) to cut two different sized circles from the pink CS and patterned paper. After I adhered these to the card I cut off the overhanging paper. I fussy cut the coffee cup and used a grey pencil to add some colour (I love pink/peach with grey). I popped it up on foam tape as well as the sentiment, which I also cut out by hand. I glued the veneer heart to the cup and added some pink and grey enamel dots (from Papervine).

I really enjoyed putting these together. Its so fun using stamps and papers I wouldn't normally have myself. And its great having the stress of choosing the colours and stamps taken away because its all there ready to go. Fantastic kit Sarah!!

I hope you can pop over to Sarah's blog Funky Fossil Designs and Hazel's blog Hazel's Paper Designs to see what they create with the same kit. I'm on my way there now!!!

Take care
Shona

The soft pinks and greys on your second card look fab with all of the circular elements from the patterned paper to the sentiment and dots.
