Reminder: The Flower Challenge #18

Hi there! Its nearly the end of the week, yippee! The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous for nearly seven days straight, so I've been flat out trying to catch up on everyone's gardening needs. As you can imagine I'm not the only one enjoying the good weather, so have the weeds!!

I'm just popping in to remind you about our current theme at The Flower Challenge. Its everyone's favourite 'Anything Goes' theme this month and the Gallery is packed with such a variety of floral gorgeousness!!

I recently received a new stamp set that I've been colouring like crazy! I've already created a card using these flowers but I couldn't resist using the rest with a different design:

I had the idea for this card while walking Bella along the riverbank. It won't be very good for sitting on a shelf somewhere but thought it was kind of cool!

I started by stamping and heat embossing the flowers and leaves (from Avery Elle 'Floral Bouquet') in white on some Strathmore Bristol Smooth CS. I then sat down and watched some more of Scandal Season 3 while I coloured away with my Altenew Alcohol Markers Set A. Once I was finished I cut them all out with the matching dies.

Using a curved-stitched die from Pretty Pink Posh, I cut a curve on the card front. I cut a piece of grey CS and to make sure I cut the same curve, I put it under the card front and made pencil marks where the die would sit. I was able to match it up and die-cut it perfectly. This was then adhered to the card front.

I played around with the flower arrangement for a while and took a photo of the end result. This made it easy for me to put back together with double-sided tape. The sentiment (from the same Avery Elle stamp set) was stamped in black and I glued on some sequins from Neat and Tangled.

You have until Sunday 25th March to link your projects to The Flower Challenge and if your needing more inspiration, pop over to the blog to see what my talented team mates have created for you. You won't be disappointed! And remember there is a prize for the winner of this challenge, details are on the blog. See you in the Gallery!

Take care
Shona

  1. Sooooo pretty and the the curved front panel is so clever. Love the soothing palette of greys and aqua colors, as well. Just beautiful. Don't wear yourself out with weed pulling.
