Thought I would leave this post till this morning (Sunday) as it takes a while for my posts to reach my Mum's email Inbox, so she won't see it before I give it to her.
Its Mother's Day today in New Zealand and I'm sick. I've been looking forward to a day off from domestic duties for weeks and feel awful. Was trying to make cards last night and couldn't concentrate. I hurt all over and my throat is killing me. Its a beautiful sunny day and wanted to go on a lovely walk with the family. Will have to wait for the drugs to kick in first..... Anyway, enough whinging and on with my post!!
It's 'Anything Goes' week at the Paper Smooches - Sparks May Wk 1 Challenge. I was very naughty and splashed out on some PS dies a few weeks ago and have fallen in love with the 'Roses' dies. I thought these would be perfect for a Mother's Day card:
I wanted to combine my favourite colours - pink/gold/white to create something pretty for her and she loves flowers, so this is perfect!
I cut a piece of patterned paper and adhered to the card front. I then die-cut the roses twice from white CS and once from gold CS. The white ones where glued together with the gold one underneath and slightly off-set. After heat embossing the sentiment in gold on a vellum banner, I adhered it to the card with some tape behind the embossing (to try and hide it). And a scattering of sequins for bling of course!
The patterned paper is from Dear Lizzy 'Serendipity'. I wish I had purchased two of these paper pads as the papers are stunning! The sentiment is from Paper Smooches 'Uplifters, the pink sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and gold sequins from Neat and Tangled.
I have six other challenges I would like to enter:
Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge (Let's get Sentimental)
Simply Create Too Challenge # 85 (Favourite Colour Combo)
Sparkle and Shine May Photo Challenge
Happy Little Stampers - May CAS Challenge
The Card Concept Challenge # 34 (Clean and Layered)
Little Tangles Challenge # 56
I'm off to have a shower and see if that will make me feel a bit better. We are having dinner at my Mum's tonight so at least I don't have to worry about cooking. Roast chicken with lemon cheesecake for dessert....yum!! Happy Mother's Day to everyone!!
