Hi everyone and welcome to my last post as the Featured Designer at CASology.
I've really enjoyed the last four weeks, especially going back and looking at older cards. Nothing like a walk down memory lane to make you realise how far you've come!!
For this post I wanted to show you some of my stranger CASology entries. On the CASology blog I show three cards where I pushed the boundaries with regards to the Code Word and I have a few more to show you:
Thank goodness my photo taking has gotten a bit better, this card is on the strangest angle!! Believe it or not, this card was for the challenge 'Run'. For some reason I kept coming back to running water or tears running down a face etc. And this lead to the bleeding heart, as if someone is missing their loved one so much their heart is crying. I still really like this one.
This was for the 'Chocolate' challenge and of course being an M&M addict, I tried to recreate them on my card. It didn't quite work out as I had hoped as the colour was quite light and all the Glossy Accents on top made the CS all bumpy but it was still cool to try it out.
This one was for the challenge 'Date'. I think my card was the only one with a 'date palm' on it, what a surprise.......where do I get these ideas from?????
As you can imagine this is one of my all-time favourites!! This was for the 'Zombie' challenge and what could be more of a bad day than being attacked by Zombies?? It still makes me laugh!! Hopefully I can still come up with these strange and whacky cards every now and then, especially with the code words that the CASology challenges use, the possibilities are sometimes endless.....
This last card photo is my most popular card ever. I made it in December 2014 and I still keep coming across it on Pinterest:
Amazing that a shaker card can still be CAS!! I love this card and hope someday I can have another 'a-ha' moment and create something like this again!
Sorry, this has turned into quite the picture heavy post but I have one more photo to share with you. My friend Susanne of Keep in Touch Cards asked to see a photo of where I take my cards photos. Here it is:
Yes, that's a bedside table, in fact its my husbands beside table. I worked out that the best light (most of the time) is in our bedroom as we have a room (you can see to the right) that is the corner of the house and has windows around it. The sun comes in there all day and if I get my times just right, it helps me take a good photo. So again its not fancy, no lightbox, no extra lighting bits and pieces, just a bedside table near the window.
Well, that's it, the end of my Featured Designer posts. I have enjoyed myself so much, its been wonderful looking at the older cards and sharing a bit more about myself and where I craft. Thank you all for your comments and support. And a big thank you to the CASology Design Team for creating such a brilliant challenge! Looking forward now to seeing who the next Featured Designer will be......
Take care

I'm popping in with a quick post today to remind you about our current TIME OUT challenge.
For this challenge we are asking you to CASE this fabulous card created by the incredible Kay Miller. To CASE a card means you make your own interpretation of it. You might copy it completely or be inspired by the colours, the layout, the die-cutting.....its left up to you!!
For my card I was still inspired by the basic layout and colours of Kay's card but wanted to play around a bit more with die-cutting:
I seem to be doing a lot of inlaid die-cutting of late. It took me a long time to work out how to do it and now I love to create a smooth surface with lots of interest.
I die-cut the frame from the card front and also from a grey paint chip. I added a panel of white CS behind the die-cut negative and then inlaid the grey frame with the middle rectangle. After die-cutting the flowers from pink and grey paint chips I inlaid some of their petals and leaves. They were then glued them into place, I stamped the sentiment in grey and added some co-ordinating sequins for shine.
The frame die is from Paper Smooches 'Frames 2', as well as the flower dies 'Dainty Flowers'. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays 'Wallflower' and the sequins are from Neat and Tangled.
I have five challenges I would like to enter:
AAA Card Challenge # 64
Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge (Flowers)
Simon Says Stamp - Work It Wednesday (Flowers)
Happy Little Stampers - May CAS Challenge
Stamplorations - May CAS Challenge
You still have one more week to link your projects to the TIME OUT challenge and if you need any help with ideas, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created for you. Looking forward to seeing how you were inspired!!
Take care

I've so been looking forward to today's post. I got a lovely invitation from the fabulous Marcie Sharp of Sharp Designs asking if I would like to collaborate on one of her 'Create Together' blog posts. I said yes straight away!!
I've really enjoyed Marcie's other posts with friends, seeing how they are inspired by different theme's and photos. And I really love Marcie's card making style, she seems to be able to make cards for every occasion with ease!
This is the photo Marcie sent me that we would both be inspired by. And funnily enough I knew exactly which dies I would use as soon as I saw it:
CAS-ual Fridays have these cool 'Funfetti Fri-dies' that cut a row of these tiny circles, so of course I thought of these when I saw that fabulous cereal!!
I grabbed my trusty paint chip box and pulled out bright colours for each colour of the rainbow. As each colour was die-cut, I removed the middle circle but kept some of them to add to the shaker. I cut a panel of white CS the same size as my card front, die-cut the flower circle die from it but left it in place, so it was inlaid. I glued a piece of clear acetate behind it, which also held the die-cut in place. Lots of foam tape was added to the back, to support it and also keep the shaker bits in place.
I put the shaker pieces in a pile on top of the card front and placed the panel over-top, sealing them in. I die-cut the 'awesome' 3x from white CS, glued them together and then across the shaker window. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on black CS and glued in place. I love my shaker bowl of fruit loops (?) and can't wait to see what Marcie came up with!!
The 'awesome' die is from Waffle Flower, as well as the 'Flowers Circle Die' and the sentiment, from the 'Congrats' stamp set.
I have four challenges I would like to enter:
AAA Card Challenges # 64
House of Cards - May Challenge
Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies
Happy Little Stampers - CAS Challenge
Thank you so much Marcie for inviting me to play. I don't have anyone close to me who crafts, so this virtual crafting session is always wonderful for me. I'm off now to see what incredible creation she came up with!!
Take care
