The theme for this post is about backgrounds and how to create them yourself using die-cuts and stamping.
This is one of the cards you will see using a repeated stamping technique and my MISTI. I'd love to know what you think about this card and the others that I've shared.
Don't forget to leave me a comment on this blog post and my other Leading Lady blog posts for chance to win a $30 Winnie and Walter gift card.
Thanks so much and see you all again next weekend with my 3rd Leading Lady post!!
Take care
Shona
Absolutely stunning!!! Love this card!!!
ReplyDeletePopped over from W&W, Shona ... your trio of background cards is brilliant ... cool Noel, perfect Christmas trees, and fantastic use of the negative die cut sentiment! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI love this card, Shona! Great background with the trees and a pretty sentiment! Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe trees are adorable and I've always been fond of W&W cutaways and sentiments. As usual, you have showcased them beautifully.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!! I love how you've used the stamp to create the background.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :)

ReplyDeleteSeriously girl, you just get better & better in every new card you make. The ones you've made for this Leading Lady assignment are just plain outstanding. Aren't you sick, yet, of being told how incredibly talented you are. I hope not because I'm going to keep telling you.
ReplyDeleteI really adore this card. The two tone red trees is so effective. You talent is awesome.
ReplyDeleteAll three cards are fantastic but this is my favorite! Those little tree are adorable and make such a wonderful background design!

ReplyDeleteShona, cheering loudly at your second spotlight feature! Your decision to inspire us with backgrounds is genious! Your repeated Noel is so pretty, the poinsettia and bright pairing, delightfully festive (I don't own a singe poinsettia image! Need to rememdy that!). Your whimsical trees...oh my stars! Heart captured! Once again, you've revealed incredible talents as a Leading Lady. Looking forward to more dazzles next week!

Two great cards!! Especially love the "Merry and Bright" Poinsettia card. Would love to give that one a try. Thanks for your Christmas card examples and congratulations to you on your Leading Lady award! Thanks to Winnie and Walter! Merry Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the fact that this can be done with the Misti! It is a great card! However, it is hard to decide which one to try this week!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the background you created with those whimsical trees, Shona! An absolutely perfect backdrop for that gorgeous sentiment!
ReplyDeleteWhat cool cards. All of them Still have not decided which one is my favorite. Would love to try all of them. I better put supplies on my Christmas list. Thank you for sharing and thank you Winnie and Walter for the fantastic crafting supplies.
ReplyDeleteLove your white, red and gold color combo. Very creative way to use your MISTI. Love your red trees and gold die cut sentiment. TFS Shona
ReplyDeleteYour use of the Noel die was outstanding, I often forget that technique! Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe how perfectly aligned the trees are. Perfect pattern paper look!
ReplyDeleteLove these gorgeous background cards! The wood veneer, metallic embossing and card design are awesome.
ReplyDeleteOooh I love this design! Great bold card that I will be casing for sure! tfs hugs, Kristina
ReplyDeleteOh wow! This is gorgeous and festive!!
ReplyDeleteI want the holiday trimmings stamp so much. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove that tree background you created!!
ReplyDeleteI always love a cute stamped background and the combo of stamping and die cut sentiment is perfection!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!!! Love these bright and festive trees for your background. I have the mini-MISTI (which I love) so it would be harder for me to do your repeated stamping on the background with it. This is the first time I have seen how the full-sized MISTI could really come in handy, but I think I will content myself with my mini. :) Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards here and over at W&W, where I commented in more detail.
