Just Add Ink Challenge # 262

Another Friday means it's time for another Just Add Ink  challenge. We have a gorgeous colour combo to inspire you this week:

For some reason, these colours immediately transport me to a tropical island (I wish!!). Maybe they transport your creative mind somewhere else, I look forward to seeing where that is.

I have to admit that my card this week is not one of my best. I got sick on Saturday night with some horrible flu virus and I'm still battling it, so I apologise for not being more inspiring this week. Hopefully it will at least give you an idea of what you can create when you should be passed out in bed!

I only had one stamp colour that was similar to the colour combo (Hero Arts Shadow Ink Mid-tone 'Fresh Peach') so used that to stamp the flower. I cut a piece of patterned paper (with light blue and green colouring) and adhered it to the front of the kraft CS card base. I cut a strip of white CS and kraft CS and trimmed to shape. After fussy cutting the flower, I glued the kraft strip to the card. After stamping the sentiment, I popped the white strip up on foam tape. I also added foam tape to the back of the flower. A few co-ordinating enamel dots and my simple card was finished.

The patterned paper is from Carta Bella 'So Noted'. The flower stamp is from Close to My Heart 'Word Puzzle' and the sentiment from Lil' Inkers 'Rainbows and Clouds Sentiments'. The enamel dots are from Papervine.

I really needed help with a design so used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch # 122, which unfortunately closed a few hours ago.

You have until next Wednesday 10pm to enter the Just Add Ink challenge. To get a lot more inspiration, please visit the blog to see the amazing projects from the rest of the Design Team. I hope to see you in the Gallery. And I promise my next challenge card will have a lot more pizazz!!

Take care
Shona

  6. Hi Shona - hope you are feeling better and weren't too knocked around by this week's storms. I'm always surprised when I see you use patterned paper - you're such a whizz with the clean, white look! But the trademark enamel dots have made an appearance and look super. Don't be hard on yourself - it's a great looking card.

  10. Sending get well vibes your way, Shona! Even though you're feeling crappy, you've still created a card that is absolutely lovely! The flower definitely takes star billing here, and the 'supporting cast' of the patterned paper makes for an oh-so-pretty pairing! I have that paper...have starred at it often, wondering what to do with it...gave up...banished it to the 'whatever' file and have promptly forgotten about it. You, however, have dressed it up perfectly! Thank you for your sweet comment - and yes, you should be on more design teams. I'll keep an eye open. By the way, Simply Create Too has openings. I think you should be on W&W's DT, just for the record *grin*

  11. Do hope you're well on the mend by now, Shona ... a splash of cognac (or your fave tipple) with hot milk always helps, it's very comforting! Such a pretty card ... lovely bloom and such perfect detailing! Take care of yourself! Anita :)
