Sparkle and Shine Challenge # 15

It rained this afternoon which is the first time its rained all through the holidays. Was quite nice actually as we just stayed home. Phoebe has Ella over for the night so they just hung out. Max was playing a new computer game while I made cards beside him. And then we watched a movie, complete with popcorn and potato chips. Bliss!! So I managed to get a few cards made today for a change.

I've been thinking about the Sparkle and Shine challenge ever since I saw this inspiration photo, with all sorts of ideas running through my mind. I picked up a new stamp set last week which had an image I was dying to use that would work for this challenge and one other. Perfect:

I stamped the dream catcher in a rainbow of Hero Arts Shadow Inks onto the card front. And then I did something I've always been too scared to do....I stamped the sentiment, in black, directly over top of the stamped images. Eeeekk! I've seen a lot of cards lately where this has been done but I'm such a clumsy stamper I always thought I would smudge it and ruin the lot. I decided it was time to take a punt and go for it.....and it worked!!

I added lots of sequins in co-ordinating colours from Pretty Pink Posh to finish it off. So happy I could keep it to a one-layer card. Both stamps are from Rosies Studio 'Day Dreamer'.

I'm going to link this to the Addicted to CAS Challenge # 73 where their theme is:

Will also enter in the Simon Says Stamp - World Card Making Day Challenge where you have the chance to win a $100 voucher!!

I've got one more card to post and then will start catching up on my emails again. Its been so hard keeping on top of them over the holidays. Either the kids are on the computer, we are out having fun or Max wants to watch movies with me in bed. So I'm sorry if you haven't heard from me in a while but will catch up with you all over the next week.

Take care
Shona

And is there another way of stamping a sentoment on a card? hihi...I do that all the time, but with rubber and wood stamps I use a stamppositioner...
Good to read that you enjoyed the holidays and had a lot of family time!

  8. Dream catchers are so very special; your card showcases them beautifully. Your stamping on the image: so eye-catching (and I hear you about the risk of smudges happening...let's not even talk about how many times I've trashed a panel because of an 'oops'). Movies and popcorn? Sounds like fun!
