Addicted to Stamps Challenge # 166

Its a wonderful Wednesday which can only mean one thing, its time for a new challenge theme at Addicted to Stamps.  And I know the Gallery is going to be overflowing with fabulous designs this week because its the popular:

                                                         ANYTHING GOES

I really enjoy this one because the Gallery gets filled with so many different colours, designs, projects....you name it, its there. So please, go to town and try out those new stamps, techniques, papers and show us what you come up with.

Our Sponsor for this challenge is Sweet Pea Stamps and they have a prize of 4 digi's for the winner. How cool is that!

For my card this week I finally had a chance to join in on The Hop to Stop. The absolutely amazing Becca Cruger organised a hop with a Purple colour theme to bring about the awareness of Domestic Violence.

I think she is such a brave and strong woman to speak out about something that we all know goes on across the world but is kept hidden away, for someone else to worry about.

Unfortunately I've witnessed first hand how destructive it can be and it becomes something that will stick with you for the rest of your life. So I say thank you Becca for standing up for all!!

The other fabulous thing is that she also has many sponsors that wanted to be a part of this hop, they should all be applauded:

For my 'purple' card I wanted to try out a technique I saw on the Altenew blog last week. The amazing Marika of Me and Mini-me Crafting had a video showing how she coloured vellum flowers with pencils. The effect is so beautiful, I just had to try it out:

I stamped and heat embossed the flower in white 3x and used purple pencils to colour the petals. I enjoyed doing it so much, actually sat in front of the tv and caught up on a few programmes while I blended away. I then used small pieces of double sided tape to attach the flowers to the card front. After die-cutting the sentiment from gold CS, I just used some Multi Matte Medium to attach it. I'm over the moon with how it turned out, so thank you so much Marika!!!!!!

The flower stamp is from Waffle Flower Crafts 'Lotus', as well as the 'perfect' die.

Will also link to the Virginia's View Challenge # 19 where the theme is:

You have one week to link your projects to the Addicted to Stamps challenge. The rest of the Design Team have made some beautiful projects to inspire you on the blog, should you need some ideas. I really hope you have a chance to play and can't wait to see you in the Gallery!!

Take care
Shona

  1. Yes, it's not something you get over, I thought I was over it, but the hop brought back the painful memories. I guess I hadn't dealt with them properly. The hop has helped me with some healing and I'm so grateful to Becca for organizing it. Your CAS card is so beautiful - thank you for supporting this issue with your crafting.
