The acetate is back again!! Yes, after looking at the gorgeous inspiration photo last night from the Curtain Call Challenge Blog
I had an idea for another sort of shaker card.
Isn't this photo gorgeous? I loved all the gold highlights and the soft pinks, so I couldn't help myself but go a little bit gold crazy.
I wanted to try doing a shaker card which was completely see through. It took an awful lot of fiddling to get the rectangle frames together perfectly but in the end it was all worth it. I was going to stamp the sentiment on the inside but felt it needed something on the front.
If I owned some embossing products I would have loved to have embossed the sentiment in gold. Decided my next thing to save up for is a heat gun, a Versamark Pad and some embossing powders.
The pink glitter washi tape is from Papervine. The gold hearts from The Warehouse and the sentiment is from Hero Arts 'Year Round Sentiments'.
I'm also going to link this card as my 3rd entry to the Artful Crafts Challenge where the theme this month is 'Anything Goes'.
Its a glorious day here today, so I'm off shortly to take the dogs for a walk and then back here for some much needed gardening. I started another shaker-type card last night but ran out of steam at midnight. Will carry on with it tonight while I watch Revenge and Scandal...may even break out my secret stash of Peanut M&M's...yum!

I think I'm developing an addiction to clear acetate. I keep coming up with all these cards designs that involve this wonderful product. The stationary store where I buy it from must be wondering what I do with it all!
Over at the CASE Study Challenge Blog they have a new 'Muse' for the month of May. She is Wida Miller and her inspiration card this week is gorgeous.
The colours are so pretty and I love the heart cut-out in the middle, so wanted to try and capture both of these elements in my card.
This is my most favourite card I've ever designed so far and it looks exactly how I pictured it in my head. Its also the hardest card I've ever had to photograph and must have taken at least 30 photos before deciding on a few.
I cut the front panel off the card leaving around 1cm at the top. I then cut 1cm off the bottom. I glued the acetate to the underside of the top flap and glued the small strip along the bottom. The heart is glued directly to the acetate on the front. I really didn't know if I could glue onto it, was worried it would slide off! I then stamped the sentiment to the inside of the card (as seen in the photo).
The papers I used are from Echo Park 'Dots and Stripes'. The enamel dots are from Papervine and the sentiment from Hero Arts 'Year Round Sentiments'.
I will also enter this as a 3rd entry into the Colour Me! Challenge #18 as their challenge is 'Anything Goes' this week with up to 5 colours of my choice (they will be getting sick of my entries over there!). I'm also going to enter this into the Artful Crafts Challenge where they have an 'Anything Goes' theme this month too.
Kids are back at school today and its raining. I've got three hours until I need to collect them so think this is a perfect time to do some more card creating. Now where did I put that acetate.......

Have certainly gotten back into the 'card making' spirit of things after my two week hiatus. I keep having to scribble down ideas for cards all over the house as designs pop into my head at the most strangest times (especially the shower for some reason...).
I was a bit naughty this week and purchased myself a few new metal dies. They are new releases from Spellbinders called 'Inspire'. I bought a set of clouds with raindrops and also one with three different words. I played around with the clouds last night and absolutely love them!
Over at the Colour Me! Challenge they are having an 'Anything Goes' week where you can use up to five different colours. This is my 2nd entry.
As you can see I'm still playing around with sequins and rainbows but decided to use softer colours (instead of red, dark green, orange). I glued the sequins with Glossy Accents (very fiddly) and then popped up both of the clouds with foam squares. I then applied this panel to the front of the card with foam squares as well.
I didn't mean to have the panel so narrow (I started the rainbow to far over...) but it worked out even better because the cloud now hangs over the side which gives it great dimension. I wish I had some lovely light grey cardstock for the clouds but love the white on white.
The sequins are by Studio Calico and purchased (along with enamel dots) from Papervine. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft 'You'.
I have another card I made but I'm not quite sure about it. Its a one-layer card that I inlayed with clouds in different patterned papers. It doesn't look horrible but there's something missing. Do you ever have moments like this with your cards? Will put it away for a day or two and then see what I think.
