I cannot get enough of my Glitter Washi Tape!! I loved the gold and silver tapes and recently purchased a light/dark pink and light/dark blue and was dying to make a card using as much as I could.
So, at CAS on Sunday their inspiration for this week is 'Sparkle and Shimmer', what a perfect opportunity to try out the washi.
This was a little experiment for me. I wanted to keep it one-layer, so didn't want to put the washi on top of the card stock. So, I cut a strip out of the front of the card, put the strips of washi across it, trimmed it and then put the strip back with a panel of card stock behind it..ta da! It actually worked!!!
The glitter washi and enamel dots are from Papervine. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft 'Hip Hip'.
I'm also going to add this card to the Mod Squad Challenge where they are looking for 'One Layer Wonder's (this will be my 2nd entry). Also to the Colour Me! Challenge #18 where its 'Anything Goes' with no more than 5 different colours.
The kids are back to school tomorrow after having two weeks holiday. We had a fantastic 'last day of the holidays' today. We all went fishing off the jetty in Picton and both of the kids caught 2 big 'spotties' each! We then stopped at the skate park on the way home so Max and I could work on our skateboarding skills. What a perfect day!
Take care

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge # 74
I'm in sequin heaven at the moment as I just spent some of my hard-earned gardening money on multiple bags of sequins from Papervine. Phoebe took one look at them and asked me to make some rainbows. The sketch for this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge is:
I thought this sketch would be the perfect chance to play around with my sequins and see if I can not only be inspired by the sketch but also make Phoebe very happy!
Talk about fiddly (those things stick everywhere!!) but I love the colours, it has a sense of fun and Phoebe LOVES it!
The sequins are by Studio Calico and purchased from Papervine along with the enamel dots. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft 'You' set.
Its 1am Sunday morning and just made 3 more cards this evening. If my eyes weren't so tired I could make many more. I was really worried that after 2 weeks of no designs that I wouldn't come up with anything but seems my crafting mind had stored away many ideas to keep me going for days. So more posts tomorrow...well, today!!
Take care

Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge #15
I'm Back..........Its been two weeks since I designed and made any cards and finally felt well enough last night to make some. It felt so good to get out all my crafting goodies and have a play. Looking at all the blogs I follow over the past fortnight has certainly been inspiring. There are some genius crafters out there!!!
Taheerah at Cure for the Monday Blues must have wondered what happened to me last week as I have become a regular participant since she started her challenge. As usual she had an amazing photo for inspiration this week:
The first thing I spotted was the lines of gold and colours going down the middle of the table. Then I saw the gorgeous perspex chair and that got me thinking about clear acetate, so......
I decided to do a clear window in the front of the card (like the chair) and added strips of paper in gold and similar colours to the table in the photo. A few pops of colour with the enamel dots and gold glitter washi, and I was done.
I really love this card. As you can imagine this was very hard to photograph, so my son Max held it closed so you can see what its like:
And this photo will give you view of the inside of the card:
The papers are from Echo Park 'Everyday Eclectic'. The enamel dots and gold glitter washi from Papervine. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft 'Hip Hip'.
I've decided to enter this into a few other challenges as well. Over at the Mod Squad Challenge Blog they have a 'One Layer Wonder' challenge. And also at Artful Crafts they have an 'Anything Goes' challenge for the month.
Must have some dinner before I forget. Gardened for 5 hours today and loved every minute. So nice to feel normal and healthy again!!
Take care
