The theme for this challenge is:
Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Friendship
As October is 'Breast Cancer Awareness Month' we would love for you to design a project for a friend or maybe a friend who is also touched by cancer. Unfortunately we all seem to know someone who has been affected by this terrible disease and any support we can offer is fantastic.
We have an amazing Sponsor this challenge CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and they are offering two prizes. They have a collection called Calling All Sistahs which consists of stamps and dies with supportive messages. And a percentage of the sales from these products are donated to Breast Cancer Research.
I wanted to create a card for either a friend going thru a tough time or possibly they have someone close to them who isn't well:
Firstly I gathered all my pink inks and lined them up. I cut a panel of white CS and began stamping with the shape from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps 'Breathe' stamp set, keeping the end of it in the middle of the panel on the left hand side. I just moved it around slightly each time, alternating the colours as I went. When I was happy with it I cut it down slightly and put on the card front using foam tape.
The sentiment (from the same stamp set) was white heat embossed on a piece of plain vellum. I cut it down to a rectangle shape but then used the smaller circle die from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps 'Ornament Tag Fri-Dies' to die-cut the end of it to cause a curved edge. I added small pieces of double-sided tape behind the words and pressed it into place, and glued on sequins from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps 'Calling All Sistah's Sistahood Sparkle Sequin Mix'.
Since I made this card on World Card Making Day, I'm going to link it to the WCMD Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
You have until Wednesday 11th October to link your projects to the TIME OUT challenge. And if your looking for any ideas, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team and our fabulous Guest Designer Yulia from Scrap Horse Blog have created for you. I'm so looking forward to seeing your beautiful, supportive creations in the Gallery!!
