Hi there everybody!! First up I must apologise for the lateness of this post, its the school holidays here in New Zealand and its been chaos with lots of unexpected children arriving at my door, so not a lot of time for crafting but the kids have had fun so that's the main thing!!
We have this sketch to inspire you this week at Just Add Ink.
You can flip it around and you don't have to use the exact shapes on the sketch itself, so have fun and see what you can come up with!
I thought this was a perfect time to FINALLY play with some new Altenew stamps that I purchased a few weeks ago. They have been staring at me, begging me to ink them up, so their wish has finally come true:
I can totally see now why people have been scrambling to buy this Altenew stamp set. It has so much detail and the different layers add so much interest and dimension to the flowers and leaves. I only used two layers this time round but can see that their uses will have me stamping different designs for months to come!!
Firstly I die-cut the flower circle die from the card front and added a piece of vellum behind it. This gave me somewhere to inlay the flower part back in. I stamped the flower using black ink and then Altenew 'Rouge' ink, which I stamped twice for a darker colour. I then stamped the leaves using Altenew 'Evergreen' and 'Forest Glades' ink. Again I can see why these inks are popular too, they really do stamp crisply and the coverage is fantastic!!
After fussy cutting them out, I adhered the leaves in place and popped the flower up on foam tape. I then simply stamped the sentiment in black on white CS and put on foam tape as well. And of course I had to finish off with a few co-ordinating sequins.
The flower, leaves and sentiment are all from Altenew 'Beautiful Day' stamp set. The flower circle die is from Waffle Flower. The peach sequins are from Neat and Tangled and the clear from Pretty Pink Posh.
You have until Wednesday July 20th to link your projects to the Just Add Ink challenge and if you need any ideas, the rest of the Design Team have some gorgeous projects on the blog for you. Looking forward to seeing your cards in the Gallery!!
Take care
Shona
