Morning everybody and welcome to the July challenge at Happy Little Stampers - CASE the Designer challenge!
This month we get to CASE the most gorgeous card by Carol of Inky Fingered Carol:
Being from New Zealand (the land of MILLIONS of sheep) this card took my heart straight away. I love the little scene she created and how the rest of the card was clean and free of embellishments. I decided to go with a similar layout but used one of my newest critter stamps instead:
I die-cut the frame twice from white CS and glued them together to give it extra stability. I put it on my card front and marked out the frame lightly with a pencil. That way as I blended the Distress Ink 'Mermaid Lagoon', I knew where to keep the colour. After I finished I flicked over a few water droplets with my fingers and removed with some tissue, to give the sky some interest.
I used a stitched-edge curved die to cut some green CS and adhered it behind the circle frame (for grass) and then popped the frame up on some foam tape. After stamping the racoon and the duckies in black ink on white CS, I coloured them using my pencils. I fussy cut them out, added black pen round the edges and glued them to the card. All that was left then was to stamp the sentiment and add some sequins for a bit of shine!!
The racoon, ducks and sentiment are from Mama Elephant 'Rowdy Racoons'. The curved die is from Pretty Pink Posh and the Inverted Flower Circle die is from Waffle Flower. The sequins are also from Pretty Pink Posh.
You have the whole month of July to CASE Carol's card and link it to the Happy Little Stampers - CASE the Designer challenge, which gives you heaps of time to join in. And remember that you also have the chance to win!
If your scrambling for ideas, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created with their CASE designs. Look forward to seeing you in the Gallery!!
Take care
