Winnie and Walter - Share the Love Week with Pinkfresh Studio - Entry # 4

Before I show you yet ANOTHER entry for the Winnie and Walter challenge, I just want to thank everyone for all their comments and congratulations on my new DT role with CAS-ual Fridays. I'm so lucky to have met so many wonderful, support people that I now call my friends through this blogging and card making adventure. I have felt very loved over the past few days and want to thank you all for that!!

So.......just when you thought I had finished entering this challenge, I sneak another one in!!

I think this will be my final entry but you just never know. There are so many cards to be inspired by for the Share the Love Week with Pinkfresh Studio Challenge, I might be tempted to make one more.....

For this entry I had fallen in love with this card by Kate Capper as soon as I saw it and wanted to try and capture some of those gorgeous colours:

The water colouring is so divine and masking so perfect. I could never re-create those flowers with my own painting skills but wondered if I could get a pinch of them using my pencils:

I will be the first to admit that I'm a bit of novice when it comes to masking but the more I do it, the more I enjoy it, although I wish I didn't make quite so many mistakes......

I started this off by cutting a panel of white CS and using a die to cut an angled-wavy edge along it. After using a pencil to mark out where the edge would sit, I set about stamping and masking, masking and stamping along each row, following that angled edge. Once finished I then used two similar coloured pencils per flower to add some depth to the middle of each flower.

I then stamped the stamens in each flower (where I discovered that pigment ink takes a VERY long time to dry if stamped on pencil and ended up smudging some of it while taking the photo....grrrrrr). The sentiment was stamped in black on the panel and it was popped up on foam tape, along with a rainbow of sequins.

The wavy edged die is from Simon Says Stamp 'Border Waves'. The flower stamps are from Winnie and Walter 'In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya', as well as the sentiment stamps from 'The Big, the Bold and the Happy'. The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

I have four other challenges I would like to enter:

Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge (Happy Birthday)

CAS on Sunday Challenge # 80 (Flowers)

Seize the Birthday Challenge (Floral)

Stamplorations - April CAS Card Challenge

Right, I'm off to watch a movie in bed with the kids. Max was going to play soccer in the morning but he has had a terrible reaction to a virus and is too sick to play. He is so gutted and we are as well but its only the start of the season, so plenty more games to go. It does also mean we can sleep-in which is a bit of a bonus.....Lots of cards to make this weekend so hopefully I can squeeze them in while hanging out with the kids.

Take care
Shona
