Honey I Shrunk the Kit - April

Yippee!! Have been looking forward to this day for months. Its time for another instalment of 'Honey I Shrunk the Kit'!!!

This is a fun idea that my friend Hazel put together, inviting myself and another friend Sarah to put together an envelope of goodies every two months and see what we all come up with!! We've been doing this for nearly a year now and have invited two more people to join us, Sandie and Sarah. It always gives me something to look forward too.

For this kit it was my turn and I packed the envelope with lots and lots of bits and pieces:

I included papers from Echo Park, images from Waffle Flower 'Welcome Spring' stamp set and images from Clearly Besotted. I also put in dies from Waffle Flower and some ribbon which unfortunately I don't know the brand. I can't wait to see what the girls did with all this!!

Card No. 1

For my first card I used all the images from Waffle Flower. I coloured them all with pencils, fussy cut them out and put them to the side. I used my mini-blending tool and Distress Ink to create a grass and sky area. The images were all adhered in place, along with the sentiment. And of course I had to add some yellow and blue sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Card No. 2

For my second card, I coloured the sheep and butterflies with pencils, fussy cut and put them aside. I adhered the Waffle Flower die to the card front and used a circle die (from Couture Creations) to cut a circle from the yellow paper. I glued this in place with the smaller Waffle Flower die over top and popped the sheep up on foam tape. The larger butterfly was put on foam tape as well. I cut out the sentiment, put it on foam tape and glued the smaller butterfly to it. And again I dropped in with my yellow and blue sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Card No. 3

For my last card I glued the Waffle Flower 'Lacy Flower' die to the inside of the large Inverted Circle die. I used a circle die (from Couture Creations) to cut the pink paper and glued it to the card front. I was then able to pop the Waffle Flower dies up on foam tape, along with the sentiment, which I cut out. I then added some clear and pink sequins. The clear are from Pretty Pink Posh and the pink from Neat and Tangled.

This was so much fun and I realised that I never used the ribbon, which I had aimed to do and the reason I put it in the kit. I'm off now to visit the girls to see what incredible ideas they had:

Sarah - Sazzle Dazzle Crafts

Sandie - London Days

Sarah - Funky Fossil Designs

Hazel - Hazel's Paper Designs

I hope you pop over to the blogs too, you will be amazed at how different all our projects will be, even though we all had the same kit. I'm very lucky to have such talented friends!!

Take care
Shona

  1. So fresh and clean and pretty! Shona, this kit was such a blast to play with! I loved the colours, and I had another card in the wings - I just couldn't afford the time! I accidentally stuffed up my gorgeous tulip, but had a plan to resurrect it! Adore how you used that lacy flower die in the last one, with that soft pink behind it! That little sheep is such a cutie - delightfully set in those circles, and your softly inked scene in the first card is so joyful! Gorgeous work, Shona, and a big thanks again for this amazing kit!!!

  2. Such soft and pretty designs, Shona - you have showcased your kit brilliantly here! I love that delicate die in the scalloped frame...never thought of that but it looks perfect. I so love the little spring scene too - you have combined the sweet images in such a clever way and I just cant resist that cute ewe. This was a wonderful kit to work with - thank you for creating such a bundle of loveliness :)

  4. OH MY! Shona you rock! To begin with what an awesome kit of loveliness you put together and I thoroughly enjoyed playing with each element. Your creations are simply FABulous! That inky blended background to the first one and the cute little scene is breath taking. The cute little sheep in his layered frame is adorable (sadly I messed up my sheep) and then what a CAS-tastic beauty in the third one. Totally fresh, crisp and clean trio of beauty. Thanks for the opportunity to play with your kit and I'm now slightly terrified about what I'm going to put together!!!! Sarah x
