Another fortnight has flown by which means it's time for another challenge at TIME OUT!! For this challenge we are taking inspiration from words:
You can't make a rainbow without a little rain
You can create a project based on the meaning of the sentence or maybe just a particular word. It's totally up to you and I can't wait to see how your inspired.
Our Guest Designer this week is Michele from Crimson Owl Creations. Her designs are gorgeous and she does the most amazing things with die-cuts, so its lovely to have her with us.
Rainbows are discussed quite a bit in our house as my 10yr old daughter Phoebe is rather obsessed with them. They are always associated with happiness and I still get excited when I see them in the sky.
I decided to not use the usual rainbow colours but kept them bright and girly. And of course I had to use my favourite rainbow die by Paper Smooches. I used it to die-cut the rainbow twice from the card front and add a panel of white CS behind the holes. I then die-cut rainbows from six different colours of CS, then spent some time working out the colour pattern. I then added glue tape to the die-cut area and added in each band of the rainbow.
After die-cutting the 'thanks' (also by Paper Smooches) from gold CS, I die-cut it twice more from white CS and stuck them all together. This was then adhered to the card front. A few enamel dots (from Papervine) and my happy thank you card was finished.
I have four challenges I would like to enter:
CAS(E) this Sketch # 118
Papervine April Challenge
Simply Create Too # 83 (No digital or stamped images)
Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge (Theme 'Middle' - sentiment is in the middle of my image)
You have two weeks to enter the TIME OUT Challenge and of course the rest of the Design Team have created some fabulous designs on the blog to get your creativity flowing. Hope to see you in the Gallery!!
Take care
Shona

Oh, I love your mix of colours and your fabulous take on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteClever use of the rainbow die, Shona! They look fabulous inlaid and I love the colour choices too :)
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely. Love your colors.
ReplyDeleteYour rainbow/circle card is wonderfully sweet, Shona...and another highlight was hearing about your daughter's 'obsession' with them! My niece is that way, too...I may have to order the PS rainbow (and possibly the unicorn too...) so she can make rainbows when I bring my 'mobile crafting unit' for a visit!
