TIME OUT CHALLENGE # 26 and its our 1st Birthday!!!!!!

Happy 1st Birthday to the TIME OUT Challenge! I've only been a part of the team for six months (and played in the challenges for a few months before that) but I can't believe how much the challenge has grown in popularity and support. And that's all thanks to you, our loyal followers, who amaze us each challenge with incredible creations. Its also fantastic to see new people entering each time and coming back for more. So thank you everybody and here's to many more!!

I also want to thank and congratulate Sandie and Nonni for all their hard work in the background, creating such a fabulous challenge with  brilliant inspiration every fortnight. And of course I want to give a great big 'shout out' to my design team buddies who are not only a delight to work with but make the most spectacular cards that inspire us all.

To celebrate our birthday, we have a few prizes for this challenge. The winner (as chosen by the DT) will receive not one but two prizes and there is also a random prize draw. Pop over to the TIME OUT blog for all the details.

And to join us on this wonderful occasion, our Guest Designer is the lovely Mandi from Faith Hope Crafts. Her cards are quite extraordinary and love the Jar of Love she created in the post dated Feb 13th....very sweet!

Rightio! I bet your all wondering what our challenge is going to be. Our challenge title is 'Home Sweet Home', and this is the inspiration photo:

Aren't all those colours divine??! Love the paneling in the background and the curly-wurly branches. Can't wait to see what this inspires you to make. The shapes of the frames caught my eye straight away so out came my trusty Cuttlebug:

Its a little quirky I know but wanted to play around with the frames and this is definitely eye-catching!!

This was really simple to do. I die-cut the windows from three colours of cardstock (they were actually all paint sample cards from the hardware store....). I then cut around them so the frame was even on all sides. After working out the pattern, I used tiny dots of Glossy Accents to hold these all together. My foam tape came into play then, as I cut quite a few tiny pieces and attached to the back of the bottom frame. This was pressed gently onto the card front. All I had to do then was heat emboss the sentiment in silver, cut it out and pop up on foam tape too. I love it!!

The window die is from Pretty Pink Posh and the sentiment stamp from Neat and Tangled 'Across the Card'.

Since I've made a birthday card, I will enter the Uniko Studio Challenge # 18 where their theme is 'Birthdays'. This is my millionth entry, sorry Bev.....

I'm also going to link to the Fusion Challenge - Bowties and other things where they have a gorgeous inspiration photo and are looking for collections of things. My collection of frames hopefully fits into this idea:

You have two weeks to join us over at TIME OUT, so hopefully that will give your brain a chance to think of something magnificent to make!! Please check out the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created to give you some inspiration. I'm so looking forward to see what you come up with!!!!!

Take care
Shona
