Little Tangles Challenge # 78

Hi there everybody and welcome to the Little Tangles challenge for March!! We have a fantastic, colourful theme for you this month:

You can't beat rainbow colours on a card design and for all of you on the otherside of the world where its freezing cold, hopefully all these rainbows will brighten your day!!

I decided that my Ziggies needed more love and I wanted to try and create the brightest rainbow ever. I wasn't disappointed:

I should have put a warning at the beginning of the post to say you may need glasses to view this creation!!

I began by cutting a panel of water colour CS. I've been watching a lot of videos by Kristina Werner lately on water colouring. She gives so many amazing tips and tricks to getting a result you like. This rainbow would never have happened if not for her!!

I basically used a big brush to do a brushstroke of water across the panel, added the colour straight from the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker across the panel and then used a smaller brush and water to spread it out. I then used the bigger brush to put a stroke of water underneath and off I went again. This way I was able to get some blending between the colours but also control the strength of the colour. I hope this makes sense!!

I cut the panel down to size and then die-cut the Heart of Gold die from the middle of it. I also die-cut the heart again from some white CS. I glued a piece of acetate across the back which gave me somewhere to inlay the white heart against. The panel was then popped up on foam tape. I stamped the sentiment from Big Bold Brew twice in black Versafine Ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder to give it some shine. I just cut it out and put it on foam tape. No sequins needed for this bright number!!

I'm going to link this to the AAA Card Challenge # 84 where their theme is:

You have until Saturday 25th March to link your projects to the Little Tangles  challenge. And pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created to inspire you. Their projects are gorgeous!! Can't wait to see what you come up with in the Gallery!

Take care

Just Add Ink Challenge # 349

Hi there everyone!! Hope you've been having a fantastic week and your ready for a new challenge theme at Just Add Ink!! We have a fun and colourful photo to inspire you this week:

This is so pretty and delicious looking. I would have loved something like this when I was a little girl (actually to be honest I would still love this now!!). You can be inspired by the colours, the food, the balloons....basically anything from this photo!

I couldn't get away from using those rainbow colours and set myself a ridiculous stamping task which was worth it when finished:

I wanted to try and recreate the macaroon shape and managed to find this oval stamp from Altenew 'Simple Shapes'. Using my MISTI and Waffle Flower dye inks, I stamped each oval twice (to get a bright colour) across a panel of white CS. It took a very long time but I managed to catch up on some tv while doing it (American Crime and Madam Secretary).

Once I had finished I used my new Winnie and Walter 'Essentials: Audrey Cutaways' smaller panel die. I stamped the sentiments (from Altenew 'Celebrate') twice with black Versafine Ink and clear heat embossed for some shine. The panel was then popped up on foam tape and I glued on some co-ordinating sequins from Neat and Tangled.

You have until next Wednesday 8th March to link your projects to the Just Add Ink challenge. And if you need any inspiration, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created for you. Looking forward to seeing all the rainbows of colour in the Gallery!!

Take care

Happy Little Stampers - Watercolour Challenge - March

Hi there everybody and welcome to the Happy Little Stampers - Watercolour Challenge for March!! Thank you to everyone who entered in February, there were so many amazing cards, it made it very hard to choose my Top 5!!

This month we still have the 'Anything Goes' theme but we also have an 'optional twist' of 'Smooshing'. Just in case you haven't coming across 'smooshing' before, its a technique where you add water colour to acetate, an acrylic block or something where you can then push it down on to your paper. Its so much fun and looks different every single time you do it!

And if making a pretty mess sounds like a good idea, how about the chance of winning a $15 Happy Little Stampers voucher!!

I hadn't 'smooshed' for a while so couldn't wait to get a bit 'uncontrolled' with my water colours:

This was incredibly simple to put together, just a bit fiddly, which you know I like!!

I mixed Distress Inks - 'Picked Raspberry', 'Mermaid Lagoon', 'Spiced Marmalade', 'Mustard Seed' and 'Wilted Violet' with water on my acrylic block and 'smooshed' them (each separately) on to a panel of water colour CS. Once it was dry I adhered the panel to the card front. I die-cut the Neat and Tangled 'Big Hugs' die from gold CS and twice more from white CS, glued them all together and then popped up on teeny, tiny bits of foam tape. And to finish off I glued on some co-ordinating sequins, also from Neat and Tangled. And that was it!!

I'm going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Anything Goes'.

And will also link to the AAA Card Challenge # 84 where their theme is:

You have the whole month of March to enter the Happy Little Stampers - Watercolour Challenge which means you may have time to enter more than once! And if you need any help with ideas, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created for you. Can't wait to see all your 'smooshed' creations in the Gallery!!

Take care
