Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge (fifth entry)

Its absolutely pouring with rain and windy, and I'm going to pick the kids up from school shortly so they don't get soaked walking home. Thought I would quickly post this fifth and final entry for the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge.

The theme for this challenge is 'Make your own Background' and I didn't think I did that very often but my last five cards have all been entered in this challenge so I do it more than I think. Maybe its because I don't use all the wonderful patterned papers I have???...

Once again I'm concentrating on using some of my new but yet unused stamps and dies. These ones are all from Simon Says Stamp, some were a prize and others were a gift from a dear friend, so I'm very happy to give them some love:

I'm so in love with the font for this die and stamp set, its so curvy and dreamy, perfect to go with the butterflies.

I started by using my MISTI and stamping the 'love' from Simon Says Stamp 'Love' stamp set using Waffle Flower 'Safe Choice' ink across the card front. I then found a similar colour pink paint chip and die-cut the SSS 'Love' die from it. This die comes with a shadow die as well, I die-cut it from white CS and also from white foam. These were all glued together for dimension.

I white heat embossed the butterflies and leaves from SSS 'Beautiful Day' stamp set and watercoloured using Zig Real Color Brush pens. These were fussy cut out. I adhered the leaves to the card front and then the 'love' die-cut over top. The butterflies were popped on foam tape, as well as the sentiment (from the same stamp set), which had been white heat embossed on black CS. I finished off by adding some sequins from Neat and Tangled.

I'm going to link this to the Create Something Catchy August Challenge where their theme is 'Watercolour'.

Better go and put on my raincoat and gumboots. I've already taken Bella for a walk along the river in the rain and everything is still wet. At least the fire is going so we can all dry out when we get home. I can imagine we will all put on our pjs and they can tell me about their day while they have a snack. I'm so glad they still tell me pretty much everything that goes on, hopefully this will always be the case....

Take care
Shona

  1. Oooh, that is just so beautiful Shona my friend! LOVE how you stamped the word 'love' all over the background, it ties all the wonderful elements together beautifully, from the soft, stunningly coloured butterflies to that lovely focal sentiment! Thank you so very much for stopping by today, I don't deserve everyone's loyalty, but am humbled and grateful to have it! Have a lovely day my friend! Hazel xx
