What a busy day!! I've been racing around like a crazy person doing shopping, spreading pea straw for 4hrs, doing jobs around the house and have now made dinner. I'm pooped and could honestly go to sleep right now but its only 6pm so probably not a good idea.....
The current Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge has a theme of 'Make your own Background'. I was playing around with my Neat and Tangled stamps and decided to create something with a stamped background:
Back on July 25th I saw this card by Keeway on the Neat and Tangled blog. It was so cute and I loved the two alligators in front of the floral heart. I wanted to do something similar with squirrels instead and stamp a floral heart background too.
Using Altenew 'Mango Smoothie' ink, I stamped the Neat and Tangled 'Floral Heart' stamp in rows across the card front. I also stamped it (and the squirrels from Neat and Tangled 'My Favourite Nut') on some Strathmore Bristol Smooth CS with Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I coloured it with my Altenew Artist Markers, making the flowers a peachy colour to match the background stamping. I used the co-ordinating die on the heart and popped it up on foam tape.
The two squirrels were also coloured with Altenew Artist Markers, die-cut with their co-ordinating dies and put on two layers of foam tape so they popped up above the heart.
For the sentiment (from Neat and Tangled 'Kindness Matters') I white heat embossed it on black CS, fussy cut out and put on foam tape. I then glued on some peach and gold sequins, also from Neat and Tangled.
The 'Kindness Matters' stamp set is the first one I ever got from Neat and Tangled way back in early 2014. I won a giveaway which then started my love of their stamps and dies. They are celebrating their 6th birthday at the moment with new products and week long blog hop with prizes. I look forward to many more years of their incredible products and inspiring DT projects!!
My stove is beeping so dinner must be ready. Its supposed to rain yet again tomorrow, I kind of hope it does. I haven't had many gardening days lately but has been so nice to do jobs at home and sneak in a bit of card making here and there. Will just have to cross my fingers before I go to sleep tonight.....
Take care
Shona
