MASCULINE with optional twist of Mixed Media
You could make something for a birthday, holiday or a lovey dovey project, just as long as it has a masculine design.
With regards to 'Mixed Media' its defined as: stamps and ink plus 2 other elements that add texture and/or dimension. Hopefully that explains it well enough for you but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!!
Our Sponsor for this challenge is Stamplorations. They will be giving the winner of this challenge a $10 gift voucher. And there will be a random draw from the people who use the 'optional twist' and their prize will be one Artploration Stencil. So definitely a good idea to join in!!
Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Patti from Stationery Styles. She designs the most beautiful cards and her floral water colour cards are so gorgeous. You really should pop over and have a look!!
I'll be honest with you, I'm not one for making masculine cards. Have only made a handful over the past few years. I thought about what my husband would like for a card and he is definitely a 'less is more' kind of guy. So I decided to keep it extremely simple and as close to one-layer as possible:
I showed Dave this card and he liked it, although he said it would be better without the sequins, so lucky I didn't give the optional twist of 'Mixed Media' a go!!!
This was incredibly simple to created as you can imagine. I stamped the presents (from Stamplorations 'Party Mates') in black on the card front and used pencils to colour the ribbons. I used my paper trimmer to cut two different width strips of black CS and adhered to the card. Then all I had to do was stamp the sentiment (from Happy Little Stampers 'Butterfly Birthday') and add some blue sequins from Avery Elle. Done and dusted!!
I'm going to link this to the Stamplorations June CAS Challenge where their theme is:
Will also link to the Creative with Stamps Challenge # 3 where their theme is:
I'm also going to sneak this into the CASology Challenge Week # 202 as the gorgeous Judy (who is on the CASology DT) reminded me on Instagram they were having a 'Masculine' challenge this week, which had completely slipped my mind. Thank you Judy!!!
You have two weeks to link your projects to the TIME OUT challenge and if you need any help with ideas or have any questions, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created for you. Look forward to seeing you in the Gallery!
Take care
Shona
