Hello everybody and welcome to Thursday and a new challenge theme at TIME OUT! We have a fabulous photo to inspire you this week:
HOME SWEET HOME
Can you imagine the different colour light that would come through these window panes?? The room would look incredible. You can be inspired by anything in this photo, maybe the colours, the brickwork, the texture, so many ideas!!
Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Karren from Stamping Stuff. Karren is a New Zealander like myself, so its wonderful to have someone from my little country joining us. She can create cards for any occasion and always knows how to rock a sketch!!
I loved the window so much I decided to try and recreate it with some vellum and pencils:
I hunted high and low through my papers to find a suitable green for the 'window pane'. I die-cut the tag, with the windows, from it and also twice from some white CS. I then die-cut the solid tag from some white CS and a piece of vellum. With a pencil I circled on the vellum where the windows would sit and coloured in each window pane with coloured pencils. This was then glued to the back of the green die-cut and then the other two die-cuts glued behind. I then glued on the solid white die-cut tag and adhered to the card front.
The 'celebrate' was die-cut from gold CS and twice from white CS, glued together and then to the tag. I then stamped the rest of the sentiment to a slim piece of white CS and glued it on, as well as some co-ordinating sequins. These aren't colours I would use often but really like how they came together.
The stitched-tag die and stitched-window die are from Pretty Pink Posh, as well as the sequins. The 'celebrate' die is from Waffle Flower, as well as the sentiment from the 'Congrats' stamp set.
You have two weeks to link your projects to the TIME OUT challenge and if you need any help with inspiration, the rest of the Design Team have some fab cards on the blog. Can't wait to see how your inspired by this photo and hope to see you in the Gallery!!
Take care
Shona
