For this Winnie and Walter NSD with Pinkfresh Studio Challenge we were asked to create our own background. There were so many flowers in the new release, I just had to do something floral on my card. I also grabbed some inspiration from the Winnie and Walter NSD and Pinkfresh Studio - Mood Board Challenge:
I absolutely loved the white on white dress in the bottom right-hand corner. Its just stunning, clean and modern. So I wanted to try and portray this with my card.
I die-cut the rose die from Paper Smooches seven times from white CS and glued it directly to the card front. I then trimmed off all the over-hanging edges. I don't own any W&W dies, so I heat embossed the sentiment (from Winnie and Walter 'The Big, the Bold and You') in gold and fussy cut. The 'thank' is actually 'thanks', I just removed the 's'. I popped the sentiment up on foam tape and added a few gold sequins from Neat and Tangled.
I have five other challenges I would like to enter:
Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes)
Inkspirational Challenge # 81 (lots of white space on my card)
Sugar Pea Designs Challenge # 15
Happy Little Stampers - May CAS Challenge
I woke up to the news this morning that we had another earthquake in the night. Once again I didn't feel it but it doesn't really worry me. As long as if its a big one and I wake up in time to protect the kids, that's all that's important to me. There is a big fault line that goes right thru Blenheim (the town I live) so I've felt them all my life. I wish they would stop going on about how we are overdue for 'The Big One', do the media really think saying that is going to help anyone????
Take care
Shona
Hi Shona. LOVE the layered roses ... so pretty and elegant. And the gold embossed sentiment and sequins are perfect finish touches to show off the gorgeous design. I live on the west coast of B.C. Canada and the media here has been telling us the same time ... we are due for "The Big One". You are right, it doesn't help anyone with them bringing it up time and time again. Hope things continue to be calm for you with no shaking!! Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers!
ReplyDeleteShona, I'm so glad to hear that the earthquake didn't cause any damage. I agree: the media isn't doing much for buoying people's confidence! On a much more pleasant note: your card has me in awe (as do all of those you've created for the W&W challenges). Exquisite and classy! The white roses, the gold thank you, the perfectly-placed sequins...rockstar stunning! I think the gals at W&W will have their eye on you for some well-deserved showcases of your creativity! In my view: you should be on their DT! Thank you so much for sharing this gem in the Inkspirational gallery!

Stunning card...so beautiful and elegant! Love the fabulous look you created. We get earthquakes where I live too and rarely do I feel them either. I worry just a bit because I know at some point there will be another one that is much bigger...so stay safe!
