Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #110

What a glorious day I had today. I spent four hours with Phoebe's class at the riverbank, planting tree's to beautify and help the river area. We walked there from the school (which only took 25 mins), had a picnic lunch and then spent 2 hours planting more than 300 native tree's. I was worried the kids wouldn't want to do the hard work of digging holes etc but it turned into a competition to see who could plant the most and they loved it!

Will be so wonderful to walk past this area and watch the tree's grow, knowing we planted them ourselves.

This week for the Addicted to Stamps and More   challenge they have the most beautiful photo for inspiration:
Such an amazing photo, I don't really think I can do it any justice. I decided I needed to make something incredibly simple and soft.

I found this amazing wood-grain paper which I thought would be perfect. I was trying to work out how I could represent the curves in her skirt when it suddenly hit me to use my curve-stitched die. This way the stitching in the card would be like the stitching in the skirt fabric. After stamping the sentiment, I popped this white card up on foam squares over the wood-grain. A few enamel dots, sequins and some Wink of Stella in the sentiment heart and I left it at that. Maybe its too simple but now seeing it underneath the photo, I can definitely see the inspiration.

The woodgrain paper is from American Crafts 'Dear Lizzy - Poka Dot Party'. The enamel dots are from Papervine, the sequins from Neat and Tangled and I used a metal stitched-curved die from Pretty Pink Posh.

I was extremely lucky a few weeks ago to win a stamp set (of my choice) from Neat and Tangled thru a Curtain Call giveaway. I didn't have any of their products so took the chance to order two other stamp sets and some of their sequins. Danielle was so lovely to deal with and sent them off straight away and even popped in a few other sequin colours. I LOVE the stamps and can't wait to show you more of them. This sentiment is from the 'Kindness Matters' stamp set.

I'm also going to link this card to the challenge at Virginia's View #7 where their theme is:

And will also link to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge  where their theme is 'Anything Goes'. This is my third entry.

Sorry this is such a wordy post. Wish I could describe what I mean in a shorter way, something for me to work on. Have two cards I want to get finished tonight so better get a wriggle on!

Take care
Shona
