Funky Fossil Designs - October 2019 New Release - Preview Day 1

Hi everybody, such an exciting day today as we are previewing the New Release stamps from Funky Fossil Designs!!!

We have two gorgeous stamp sets to share with you today - Festive Penguins and Joy:

These images are absolutely gorgeous and there are so many ways to use them for your Christmas or Winter themed projects.

For my card I combined the 'Joy' stamp set with a stenciled background:

I love blue/turquoise and white Christmas cards and thought the 'Happy Holiday's' image would be great in white on some coloured CS.

I started off by putting the 'Nordic Star Background'  stencil over the card front, held in place with washi tape and blending over some Distress Oxide ink in 'Peacock Feathers'.

While that was drying I white heat embossed the image on some turquoise CS. To add a bit more detail I used my Altenew Artist Markers in similar colours to colour in some of the pinecones etc. I then used a circle die from Winnie and Walter 'Essentials: Carly Cutaways' which fitted perfectly around the wreath. I adhered this to some white foam and popped on the card, along with some clear jewels from Studio Katia.

We have two more stamp sets to share with you tomorrow. They will all be available on Saturday 19th October and we will be having a giveaway to celebrate.  I'll see you back here tomorrow to show off the new stamps.

Take care

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps - Girl Friday post for October

Hi everybody, its getting closer to the end of the week and I can't wait to sleep in on Saturday morning!! I have lots of my own gardening to do but the whole weekend to do it. I usually go and play a lot of basketball with Max but he sprained his ankle playing basketball at school on Tuesday and has to keep his foot up and rested until Monday....so that's a bummer!! Maybe I'll go skateboarding with Phoebe (which means I run behind her trying to catch up...).

I'm on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog today with a Christmas card to share with you all. I'm really enjoying using stencils more often now, and wanted to try one of the CFS stencils with my new paste:

If you haven't tried the new Nuvo Glacier Paste yet your missing a real treat. Its so soft and spreadable, like whipped butter. And the shimmer is incredible!!

I started off by cutting a panel of pale blue/grey CS and adhering to the card front for the background. I then cut a panel of white CS and held the 'Starlequin' stencil over top with some washi tape. I then spread the Nuvo Glacier Paste 'Frostbite' over it using a small spatula, trying to get it all even and not too thick. Once I was happy I slowly removed the stencil and immediately cleaned under running water and dried with paper towels. I put the heat gun on it for a few minutes to help with the drying process and then left for a couple of hours.

Once the paste was dry I die-cut the middle out of it using the largest circle from the 'Ornament Tag Fri-Dies'. I also cut a smaller circle from white CS. The stenciled panel was cut down a smidge and popped up on white foam. I silver heat embossed the sentiment from the 'Snowy Sayings' stamp set and put this on foam tape. I finished off with some 'Arctic Breeze' pearls from Studio Katia.

I hope this has given you some new ideas for your Christmas cards. Maybe to try a new colour scheme or use some different stencils on your designs. If your looking at possibly purchasing any of the products I used today don't forget to use my special code to save yourself 15% on your purchase.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see you back here soon with more Christmas cards for my stash!!

Take care

Reminder: TIME OUT Challenge #146

Hello there! So glad you came by and hope your having a fabulous week. I'm popping in to remind you all about our current theme at TIME OUT:

Its all about 'Encouraging' each other for this challenge, which I think is incredibly important. Its so easy to get caught up in all the annoying and horrible things that people do. A simple compliment or encouragement can make such a huge difference in someone's life, even a complete stranger, so I try to do it as often as I can.

Our Sponsor for this challenge is Newton's Nook. They have so many gorgeous stamps and dies, lots of cute images and gorgeous floral designs too. They are giving the winner a $25 gift voucher!!

As you may have noticed I absolutely love rainbows and using rainbow colours. They always make me smile and feel good, so thought they might do the same for someone else too:

I've been dying to use this Picket Fences 'Botan Peony' stamp for months but never found the right time. Its so huge and beautiful, I thought it could handle being multi-coloured!!

I started by creating a 5.5 x 5.5 inch square white card base and adhering a panel of grey CS to the front. I then stamped the flower on some watercolour CS using Versafine Onyx black ink and immediately clear heat embossing with SSS Clear embossing powder. I sat down with a rainbow of Distress Inks and saturated the image with water. Using a round brush a simply touched the tip in different spots, watching it whirl around in the water, cleaned my brush and added another colour. I did one petal at a time but wasn't worried about colours running together. It took a while as I had to re-wet each petal as I went but I can't believe how vibrant the colours are!!

Once it was dry I fussy cut it out and popped it up on foam tape over the grey card front. I white heat embossed the sentiment (from SSS 'Beautiful Day') on a strip of black CS and put this on foam tape as well. To finish off I glued on some pearls from Studio Katia.

You have until Wednesday 23rd October to link your projects to the TIME OUT challenge and if your struggling with what to make, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team and our wonderful Guest Designer Shawna of The Grand Stampede have created for you. Can't wait to see your encouraging designs in the Gallery!!

Take care
