Uniko Challenge # 22

It's my last day alone before the two weeks of the school holidays start. Its pouring with rain and the perfect day to make some cards and catch up on some tv. Brilliant!

I'm skidding in under the wire for the Uniko Challenge.  Their theme is 'Anything Goes with the optional twist of Masculine'. I've only made probably 3 masculine cards ever, so decided to give that a miss and play with some flowers instead:

I wanted to make a one-layer card with Summery colours and lots of flowers. Ticked all those off my list with this one!

It was very simple to make. I stamped the solid flower from Uniko 'Flower Power #5' in alternating inks and then used a mint colour to add the middle part of each flower. After stamping the sentiment (from the same stamp set) in black, I added a few co-ordinating sequins for a bit of interest.

I'm going to also link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge where their link is 'Summer'. I can't wait for warmer days and flowers to be filling my gardens!

And will also join the House of Cards - July Challenge where their theme is some gorgeous strawberries (how I miss those!) and colours:

Back to my card making and tv watching I go. Being able to record all my favourite programmes is fantastic but its so easy to get behind. I have about 3 weeks to catch up on, will have to stay up four days straight to watch it all!!

Take care

REMINDER - Time Out Challenge # 34

Hi everbody, just wanting to remind you about the current TIME OUT challenge. There is still one week to get your entries in, so hopefully thats enough time for you to get creative!!

I love this inspiration photo so much!! The colours, the geometric shapes, the patterns.....oh my....so many ideas running thru my head! My last card was based mainly on die-cutting, so thought I better do some stamping to even things out:

I'm sorry the photo isn't brighter. Have been struggling to capture the sunlight this Winter. Its either not there or its so bright you can't see the card at all!!

I stamped a banner stamp from the corners into the middle using red, orange, light pink and dark pink ink pads. I then die-cut the frame from the card front, and also three times with black CS. I glued all the frames together and added a piece of white CS to the back of the card front, this gave somewhere for the frame to sit. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in gold and then used glue to inlay the frame. Of course I had to add a few sequins for a bit of sparkle.

The banner stamp is from Waffle Flower 'Congrats' and the sentiment stamp is from Avery Elle 'Bottle it Up'. The frame is from Paper Smooches 'Fancy Frame Icons' and the sequins from Neat and Tangled.

I'm going to link this to the CAS on Sunday Challenge # 61 where their theme is 'One Layer'.

Will also link to the new Virginia's View Challenge # 16 where the theme is '100% Stamped'. Your allowed to put in the odd little die-cut, so hopefully my frame will be okay....

The TIME OUT challenge finishes next Wednesday, so that gives you plenty of time, I hope, to be overwhelmed with ideas for this photo challenge. If you do need any help, please pop over to the blog where the rest of the Design Team and our Guest Designer - Sue have prepared some glorious projects for you. Hope to see you in the Gallery!

Winnie and Walter - Rerun No. 1 - Parentville Extras

I'm popping in very quickly before I race off to do some more gardening in the sun. No frost this morning, so my fingers won't fall off from frostbite, need to make the most of this glorious day!!

Over at Winnie and Walter they are starting a new challenge where they look at older stamp sets. This one is about the 'Parentville Extras' set, which unfortunately I don't own. But, I could enter the challenge by being inspired by one of the cards created.

I thought this card was just gorgeous and loved the soft colours and design. I don't own any small W&W flower stamps (or hearts) so had to improvise:

I cut a piece of pale blue patterned paper to fit the card front and then die cut the stitched rectangle from it. After adhering it to the card, I added the die-cut rectangle from white CS. I die-cut three waffle edged squares from white CS and stuck them all together. After stamping and heat embossing the diamond in gold, I also stamped three sparkles and covered it in a piece of die-cut vellum.

I then decided to heat emboss the 'MY' in white and popped the square on some foam tape. The 'precious' was stamped and heat embossed in gold as well. I thought a few pale green sequins would finish it off nicely.

The stamps are from Winnie and Walter 'My Precious' and the sequins are from the Winnie and Walter Birthday Bash set by Pretty Pink Posh. The stitched-rectangle die is also from Pretty Pink Posh and the waffle square die is from QuicKutz. The blue paper is from Dear Lizzy 'Serendipity'.

Right, better go and change into my gardening ensemble. There is so much to do in the garden at this time of year, even though nothing is growing. And I have a group of little Fantail birds that keep me company which is really cute. So will just be me, the birds, some worms and mud for the next 4 hours.....fun!
