It did give me some time though yesterday to make a few cards and I really wanted to create something for the CASology Challenge because I thought their cue word 'burst' was brilliant inspiration:
One thing I'm very aware of this year is being prepared for Christmas. I've been buying some Christmas Club coupons each week at my local supermarket (if you haven't heard of these you can purchase coupons for $20 each and they can only be used in December) so will have plenty of money for food etc. And I want to make sure I have plenty of Christmas cards because I ran out again last year. So I'm trying to fit in Christmas card designs where I can....and a 'Santa Teddy' jumping out of a box seemed like a great idea!
For this card I started off by stamping the image (from Winnie and Walter 'Sweet Holiday with Evelin T Designs') on some white CS, colouring with pencils and then fussy cutting out. With a wet brush I created a rough background on the card front using Distress Ink 'Salty Ocean', being careful not to use too much water.
Once it had dried I put the bear on some foam tape and stamped the sentiment (from the same W&W stamp set) in black. And I glued on some Neat and Tangled sequins for a little shine and interest.
I'm also going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Animal Antics'.
Take care
Shona
I love your take on the cue word, Shona! Nothing better than an adorable critter popping pup like that! Giggling about your cats and dog stalking you while you cook - that sounds very familiar! Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteThis is really so cute, and I can tell you that many kids, mine included, would love to have a pet burst out of a Christmas present. The idea makes me just smile. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.
ReplyDeleteYep, I can just imagine this little fella bursting through the box. I smell a winner.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Shona... Love your interpretation of the challenge. I may not comment often over the next few, days, as I am without my computer 😣
ReplyDeleteBlessings
