I can't believe its April already??!!! It seems like Christmas was just a few weeks ago and now I'm whizzing towards Winter.....buggar! The good news is that its time to CASE a new designer for the Happy Little Stampers - CASE the Designer challenge. This month we have an incredible card by the always creative Joyce of Cards by the Sea:
Isn't this card gorgeous??!! Joyce is so good with your colouring and she has those fabulous Altenew flower stamps I would love to own myself.
You don't have to use Happy Little Stampers products to play along and you have the chance of winning a $15 discount at the HLS store too!
I love Joyce's card so much I couldn't help but copy the design but decided to use something else instead of a flower:
I don't think I've ever made one of these cards where there is only partial colouring but have been dying to give it a go. I started off by working out where I would die-cut the rectangle and stamped the butterflies in the corners. I then die-cut the rectangle from the card front and also twice more from some white CS. I cut a panel of white CS and adhered to the inside of the card front to give something for the inlaid panel to stick to.
I coloured the butterfly areas on the die-cut and glued the rectangles together. They were then inlaid back into the card front. I stamped the sentiment in black and added a few pink sequins for a bit of shine.
The butterflies are from Happy Little Stampers 'Butterfly Birthday' and the sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays 'Truth is'. The stitched-rectangle die is from Pretty Pink Posh as well as the small pink sequins. The larger sequin is from Neat and Tangled.
I'm going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Anything Goes'.
You have until the end of April to link your projects to the HLS CASE the Designer challenge. And if you need any help with inspiration, the rest of the Design Team have CASE'd Joyce's card too over on the blog. Looking forward to seeing your projects in the Gallery!
Take care
Shona
