Winnie and Walter NSD with Pinkfresh Studio - Sequins Challenge

Everyone is now in bed asleep so I can concentrate on blogging and card making. Although I may have to do a quick hair-do change as Phoebe gave me a new hairstyle before bedtime. It feels very odd but I do love her playing with my hair. Makes me feel very sleepy......

Time for me to show you my entry for another Winnie and Walter with Pinkfresh Studio NSD Challenge  and the theme for this one is:

Who doesn't love sequins and who doesn't love a shaker card??!! So I thought it was time I invented a new shaker shape. Well, its probably new to me.....

Why oh why do I keep coming up with such fiddly designs?????? I'm so glad it worked in the end but boy did this one push my patience.

I placed the different size circle dies on a piece of white CS, so that they all touched down the bottom of the circle. I put this thru my Cuttlebug and then did it another two times. I glued two of each circle together. I then die-cut a large circle of acetate. This was glued to the top of the large circles (glued together). I then glued the two smaller circles (glued together) in place behind the acetate.

The remaining large circle piece was glued now on top of the acetate, and so was the smaller one. This is where my patience was stretched as I cut millions of tiny pieces of foam tape to make my shaker sit up higher. The tape was attached to the underside of the large and smaller circle. This separated the two shaker areas too.

I poured in my sequins and then removed the tape covering from the foam tape and stuck down a large circle die-cut from white CS. That sealed the shaker completely. After stamping and heat embossing the sentiment in silver, I adhered the shaker to the front of the card. I would have liked to have added more sequins but it would seem I'm running out......

The circle dies are from Couture Creations. The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter 'The Big, the Bold and You'. The silver star sequins are from Papervine, the pink sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and the multi-blue sequins from Avery Elle.

I'm going to link this to the AAA Card Challenge # 38 where their theme is:

Will also link to the Happy Little Stamper - May CAS Challenge where the theme is:

And will also link to the Sugar Pea Designs Challenge # 15 where the theme is:

I'm off to try and create a card to look like the design in my head. I have a horrible feeling though that its going to be harder than I thought. Funny how that constantly happens.......

Take care
Shona

  8. What a fabulous shaker, Shona! I love that it is two separate shakers in one. I haven't tried that yet, so you've inspired me to try one. I'm wondering if die cutting the shape with fun foam would work rather than cutting all the tiny foam tape pieces. Only one way to find out! If it turns out half as pretty as yours, I'll be lucky. xo
