What a fantastic day today!! The sun was shining and the kids were happy. I showed Max how to play tennis for the first time today (which I think he enjoyed.....). We went to a local tyre place and managed to score 4 huge tyre inner tubes to float down the river with. Unfortunately when we got home I managed to roll one straight into a rose bush, so now down to three..... And the kids had their first tube float down the river after lunch, which was hilarious. Gotta love the school holidays!!!
I haven't joined in with CAS(E) this Sketch for a few weeks but when I saw this sketch, my mind popped up with an idea immediately. Although when I tried it out, it was a disaster but it lead me to something else that was much better:
My original idea was to have the word 'happy' as the stripes with 'birthday' across the top but it looked awful. I was looking for other words and found the XOXO in a new stamp set (shhh, don't tell my husband I went shopping last week.....).
I cut a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than the card front. I VERY carefully stamped the 'XOXO's' across the front. I then die-cut the 'love' three times from red card stock and glued them all together. This was stuck straight over the stamps. I stamped the 'you', held back from using too many enamel dots and adhered the panel with foam tape to the card front. I 'love you' too, my 2am this morning card!
The 'XOXO' stamp is from Fiskars 'Say What?'. The 'you' is from Hero Arts 'Year Round Sentiments'. The metal 'love' die is from Paper Smooches and enamel dots from Papervine.
Since I've used all words on this card, I'm going to link this to the Less is More Challenge - Week #191 where their theme is 'Mostly words'.
And for the last time I'll link to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Anything Goes'. This is my 10millionth entry.
I can feel all my 2am bedtimes kicking in, feeling very tired. Might have a night off from creating tonight and catch up on some tv in bed. With how I feel I will probably be asleep before the kids!
Take care
Shona
