CAS - Colors and Sketches Challenge # 78

Got some exciting news yesterday. My husband managed to find 2 free office drawers that will fit nicely either side, under the computer table. This means I can finally get my craft pile off the dining room table. Dave is especially pleased about this, as he's sick of eating off the coffee table. Hope it all fits....

I had a lovely time last night making a card for the challenge at CAS - Colors and Sketches.
I was a little stumped with this sketch as I kept imagining either watercolors or different patterned papers. Finally, I found something I liked.
I've never had a go at the 'ombre' look but realised last night that the light pink, dark pink and red (all from Mama Elephant) worked together really well. So I cut out three strips of white cardstock, got out my new favourite flower stamp and went to town! When finished I popped them all up on foam tape and did the same with the sentiment. Might give this one to my Mum (she is having surgery on her hand again today) and I know she will love this.

Flower stamp from Altenew 'Painted Flowers' and sentiment stamp also from Altenew 'Socahtoa'.

I was also thinking about the photo inspiration at the Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge #21 while stamping this card:

The flowers were the first thing to catch my eye in this photo, especially with the darkish pink and red flowers and the light pink of the bottom plate. I was tempted to stamp in yellow as well but really liked the ombre look.
Better get started on those drawers, I might be some time.......

Take care
Shona
