Hopefully you've all arrived at the weekend and have lots of craft time booked in!! I was planning on making some cards today but Phoebe has been extremely sick with a migraine and a trip to the doctor, so everything didn't go to plan. She is a lot better now after getting some injections and I might have time now to work on a few designs....
During this past week I managed to do some colouring with my pencils, using some of my new stamp sets. One of them is the Ellen Hutson 'Hot Mess Lady' who has the exact same hairstyle as me. I wanted to create a card with her, using the colours from this months Ellen Hutson Pin Sights challenge.
Its funny but the hardest thing I found with making this card was choosing the patterned paper in the background!! I don't use patterned paper very often and get all nervous about it matching my design etc. It really stresses me out for some reason!!
I stamped the 'Hot Mess Lady' on some white CS, coloured with pencils and die-cut using the matching dies. One of the other matching dies cuts out a calendar image. I decided it would be cool to just die-cut the shape and turn them into 'post-it notes' with all the jobs listed on them.
After cutting them out I gave them a light watercolour wash using Distress Inks 'Mustard Seed', 'Abandoned Coral' and Wilted Violet'. I have some Hero Arts stamp sets that are from a Kit I won a few years ago which had a 'planning' theme. I stamped different ones on the notes in black.
Leaving the background white was a bit too blah, so I found this paper from Amy Tangerine 'Better Together' and adhered to the card front. Using double-sided tape I added my 'Lady', along with all her notes. The sentiment (from the same Ellen Hutson stamp set) was heat embossed on a circle of black CS and popped on foam tape. And of course I had to add some sequins from Neat and Tangled.
I'm also going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Anything Goes'. This is my fifth and final entry.
I need to go and check that my electric blanket is on. We've been having such cold nights lately, thank goodness we all have heaters in our rooms and a good log fire for the rest of the house. Its supposed to rain tomorrow until Wednesday so looks like there might just be a bit of card making going on if I'm lucky.......

Its been a very dramatic day here today. Phoebe woke up at 8am and immediately got a migraine. She vomited all day so I took her to the doctor around 5pm. They were so good with her and gave her injections with a painkiller and anti-nauseous medication. Its an hour and a half later and she is so much better!! Her migraines are getting much worse, so will be off to see her normal doctor this week to see what we can do about it.
I saw the code word for the current Addicted to CAS challenge and knew it was the perfect chance to use a new stamp set that has been quietly waiting for a chance to shine:
All of these stamps are from a new stamp set by Rosies Studio, its part of their 'Splendid' collection. I've been wanting to watercolour this whale for weeks!!
I started by stamping the whale with Versafine black ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth CS and heat embossing immediately with clear powder. Using Distress Inks 'Salty Ocean', 'Mermaid Lagoon', 'Chipped Sapphire' and 'Peacock Feathers' I coloured this whale 3x, drying it with my heat gun in between layers, to get this vivid colour. I fussy cut it out and added foam tape to the back.
The waves were stamped using Hero Arts Shadow Ink in 'Navy' across the middle of the card front to add a subtle background to the whale. I then stamped the sentiment in black and glued on a few blue and clear sequins from Neat and Tangled.
I'm also very excited because its time for another The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge for the month of June, and I'm DETERMINED to colour every day this time!! This watercoloured whale is for my Day 1!!

I'm going to enter the Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge too as their theme is 'Masculine' and I feel this would be a good card for a man as well!!
I better go and check on Phoebe. She has finally had something to eat and is a bit more talkative now she's not feeling so nauseous. I'm dying to watch the latest episode of RuPaul's Drag Race on my iPad, in bed with my electric blanket on and Toblerone chocolate within reach.....heaven!!

Its a very dismal, cold day here this morning and I have the day off. Phoebe has the day off today (Mid Term Break for College) so she stayed the night at Ella's and they are coming home in around an hour. I did have some gardening to do today so might have to squeeze in a few hours over the weekend.... However it means I can make some more coffee cards and catch up on housework...yay!!

I don't think I ever look this nice when I'm crafting, I'm usually in my pyjama's or old gardening clothes, so thank goodness I don't do any video's! I'd have to get a stylist and make-up artist!!!!
I stamped the Ellen Hutson 'Crafty Leading Lady' on white CS, coloured her with pencils in bright, Summery colours and then die-cut using the matching die. I also stamped a flower from Neat and Tangled 'Bloom', pencil coloured and fussy cut to add to her hair.
For the background I stamped the coffee cup from Ellen Hutson 'Hot Mess Leading Lady' all over the card front and coloured with my pencils. I die-cut a circle of black CS with a die from Couture Creations and heat embossed the sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps 'Hot Coffee' in white before adhering to the card. I popped the Lady up on foam tape and added some Neat and Tangled sequins.
