CAS-ual Fridays Stamps - Girl Friday post #2 for March

Hi everyone, what a week its been for the whole world. So much turmoil and the great unknown for all. We will certainly be part of the history books with nothing like this having happened for 100yrs but I'm sure we are all wishing we didn't have to go thru it at all. I hope you and your families are all well and safe, and your keeping an eye on those who don't have anyone else to look after them.

I'm on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog today with this card I'm going to create in different colours and get in the mail asap to friends around the world who definitely need a good hug right now:

I wanted a card that was bright, happy, fresh and bubbling over with love. Hopefully you can all see that in this design!!

I started off by using Waffle Flower ink with the 'Smile' from the 'Sassy Smiles' stamp set and stamping it across a panel of white CS, alternating the colours. I then adhered it to the card front. I did it this way because sometimes the ink bleeds thru and I didn't want it to be seen when the card was open.

I stamped the flowers and leaves from the 'Pretty Posies' stamp set on watercolour CS using Gina K Amalgam black ink. Using my Zig Real Color Markers I very quickly coloured the images, not wanting a neat result, wanted the colour to be more messy and free-flowing. Once they had dried I fussy cut them out and using double-sided tape and Gina K Connect Glue, I adhered them to the card front. I also used the same blue ink to stamp the sentiment (from the same Pretty Posies set) on a strip of white CS backed with black and put on foam tape. To finish off I added some pearls from Studio Katia.

I hope this card has given you a little boost and made you smile. If you haven't seen these sets before and might do a little online shopping, don't forget to use my special code to save yourself some money.

Thanks again for stopping by.  Look after yourself and your family, and I'll be back here again soon with some more designs to make you smile and maybe they will get you crafting as well!!

Take care
Shona

  1. Fresh is definitely the word for this card. Love blue/green combos and this one is super cool. Hope you're all doing well and avoiding contact with others. Most of all, want us all to survive this time and stay sane.
